INTRODUCTION
As you learned in the previous module, research is systematic and cyclical. This means that you need
to follow a step-by-step process to successfully conduct a research study. Aside from that, a good research
design is needed. The type of research would depend on the purpose of writing the research. It can be
qualitative or quantitative that this module will help you to understand the difference between the two
techniques.

OBSERVE IT: Read and analyze the given statements below and identify the difference between the sets of
statements. Your answers will be discussed during Zoomustahan.

SET A
 Ninety-five percent (95%) of the examinees passed the exam.
 The teacher gives a seventy-five (75) passing mark to the student.
SET B
 A big number of examinees passed the exam.
 The teacher commented that the student seems uninterested to study the lessons.
