Task 2: Professional Development Reflection
This task requires you to think about the CPD activities you did. Here are some tips for
writing your reflection:
• Say what the activity involved – is it an area where you lack confidence or experience?
• Identify what you learned from the activity – was it useful or interesting?
• Consider how the activity will benefit you in the future e.g. making group presentations or
communicating with customers
• What have you learned about your strengths, weaknesses, or development needs along
the way?

Continuous professional development plays an essential role in every individual life to the
large extent. It can be seen from (Filipe et al. 2014) that a continuous professional
development (CPD) is an outside formal training from educational activities which allows
individuals to maintain and enhance standard of professional practise in management,
interpersonal communication, technology, team building, professionalism and so on through
the enhancement of knowledge, skills, attitude, and behaviour. This, reflective essay will
discuss about the reflection of various activities done for CPD-2 module.
CV and Talent Connect:
Before making CV and Talent connect registration, I always lacked confidence regarding job
hunting. I was making silly mistakes such as poor formation, unoriginal personal profile and
so on in CV which was my weakness but after researching Talent Connect and making proper
CV under guidance of talent connect and team and learning from mistakes now it makes me
more confident. I consider it as extremely important part for my career and goal. Now I
consider CV as the first chance to make good impression and CV with best quality can boosts
the overall chances of receiving interview. Now, I find Talent connect as best platforms for
employability aspect and to access plethora of job opportunities wit best employability
support.
LinkedIn profile:
After making account on LinkedIn, I find it interesting to use and it is significant job board in
this competitive world to stand out in the job market. It also helpful for me to raise my profile
and to build up professional contract with other while at university. It has reduced my worries
about getting field job and field network. For me., “a Guide to cover letter” activity helped
me a lot to showcase my unique combination of skills and experience to meet the certain key
requirements for job by enhancing wording in cover letter. It has given me a knowledge about
how to structured and what language and style I should use.
A Guide to Interviews” and “A Guide to Assessment Centres:
Despite CV, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile, One another challenge for me was to pass in
interview which was making me bit nervous because of lack of knowledge about that. But,
after completing the activity such as “A Guide to Interviews” and “A Guide to Assessment
Centres” it has boosted my confidence level as this short courses has helps me to prepare for
various types of interviews and how to use body language and to answer effectively during
interview. From second mentioned activity I get essential knowledge about positive and
negative attributes of person from what interviewer value the most. I received significant tips
from this activity regarding presentation, role plays, psychometric tests and so on.
Pitching Yourself:
I consider pitching as a universal skill. After attending this course, I learnt about how to
describe ourselves; how to recognize the purpose of pitch and to identify the significant part
of pitch. I learn from Jodi Glickman about go-to aspect to sell ideas, story, and even we and
learnt three easy steps to be successful pitch which are connecting dots, destination, and
backstory. Thus, as I want to be an entrepreneur this skill will help me a lot in or get to attract
investor’s potential.
Building resilience:
This activity is extremely useful for my career by several reasons. For example, it has
enabled me to enhance mechanisms regarding protection against experiences which would be
overwhelming and helps me to maintain balance during difficult or stressful situation when
things go bad to worse in life. From this activity I get great knowledge about how to develop
emotional regulation, self-efficacy, realistic optimism and much more.
Decision-Making in High-Stress Situations:
As my goal is to become an entrepreneur so in this five year, I need to enhance my decision-
making skill because success in life is all about taking correct decision. Thus, from this
activity I learn about how to leverage stress during difficult situation, getting pressure to
work for me rather than making it against of me. It will also useful for me to identify
processes that helps me to take right decision. In future this skill will help me to save most
precious thing in the world ,namely time as well as resources, and also useful to prevent risks
of life.
Foundation of entrepreneurship:
In every entrepreneur’s life, strong foundation of entrepreneurship plays and essential role to
the large extent. Thus, after attending the “entrepreneurship Foundations” activity, It has
serves me an opportunity to learn about how to find business opportunity; How to handle
challenges in business. I also learnt about various effective formula for starting small and
build. This activity has provided me a sense of satisfaction as it is completely related to my
goal and will helpful in achieving my mission and vision.
Finding Your Time Management style:
I consider the activity namely “Time Management style” as one of the most significant in
every aspects of life regarding Jobs, study, career and so on. This activity has enabled me to
manage my time effectively that helps to enhance career because organizing each day helps
to complete work on specific time, also it provides more time to be creative and proactive in
the tasks. In future, this will also help to accomplish goals and to be advance on position.
Conclusion:
Overall, It can be concluded that the above mentioned activities are lot of useful for me and
will be beneficial to enhance career prospects to the large extent as it has provided a better
knowledge by which I can enhance myself after learning from those activities.
Task 3
Use this section to outline your career aspirations and the plans you will put in place
to help you achieve your goals. This will help focus you going forward.
Career plan plays a significant role in every individuals life to the large extent, as it helps to
stay focused on vision and mission to every person. Thus, this part will be going to discuss
about my career planning that I done to achieve the goals of life.
Since childhood I have always dreamt of to become an entrepreneur and to achieve this goal,
I am currently studying BA(Hons) Business Management that will give me proper insight
about business. I am looking to work in food industry and later to start my own business in
that. As I set goal according to five years , then In this five year after completing the third
year I am going to take summer placement and then internship during post study work permit
In the field of sales and marketing because I consider it as a base of any business. As I
already have experience as Sales and management trainee, I will be looking to work as sales
and marketing executive.
Regarding, placement and internship, I am currently applying in sales and management
placement position and I am sure that I will get a good job that will helps me to enhance my
experience. Apart from placement I am also looking and preparing for summer jobs in sales
and marketing position which is additional benefits for me to enhance work experience and
securing better jo after completing undergraduate studies.
Overall, I am focusing well on my studies and career planning along with working on
enhancing the work experice to have a bright future and carre ahaead. I am inteding to take as
much benefits of Placement year as I can to maximise the chance of securing better job after
under graduate study.
