1 Getting Started with ASLM
Access Software License Management (ASLM) is the license key management tool used not only on
the Wavence but also many other products. ASLM offers features such as the following:

• Create a license key with multiple different entitlements at the same time.
o Example: Add 5Cap500, PTB, RING in one action
• Possibility to create a PDF of the license certificate
• For ANSI, new capability to generate a default key with just the RMU serial number.

1.1 How to Request Access to ASLM – Nokia Customers

Nokia Customers submit their ASLM log-in requests via an online form contained on the OLCS Web
Portal.

When coming to the Software License Keys landing page in OLCS and clicking on “Access Software
License Management (ASLM) tool” link for the first time, the user will fail to authenticate. There is
a link in the error message through which the user will be able to input the required information and
then be able to submit a request for a log in.

The user, once authenticated, will be notified. Upon the next attempted entry through “Access
Software License Management (ASLM) tool” link, the user will pass directly into ASLM.

1.2 How to Request Access to ASLM – Nokia Employees

Nokia employees submit their ASLM log-in requests by sending an e-mail directly to the SWLD
organization. Below is an example email template for Nokia employees requesting access to ASLM.
The “send-to” addresses are included at the top of the templates.
Please send your request to: nokia.cicfafreq@nokia.com

1.3 Types of Upgrade Scenarios

With the ASLM tool, there are a couple different scenarios for upgrading license keys. The next
sections describe the process to create a license key for each of the different scenarios.

• Scenario 1: First Upgrade using imported key

o This is the Typical method for upgrading keys for the North American Market for the
first time.
• Scenario 2: Established License key upgrade
o Follow this process if the license key has been updated in ASLM at one time already.
• Scenario 3: First Upgrade using basic key.
o Follow this process for new flash cards.
o This is the Typical method to generate keys for the ETSI market.
