Pandemic may spread…. still Education will grow

School Year 2020-2021,the most challenging academic year for us educators

as well as for parents and learners.

Department of Education launched and initiated several learning modalities

that will cater the needs of each learner to grow learning despite of our new normal

situation in education.

Self-learning modules,online classes,tv and radio broadcasting and video

lessons were used to facilitate and ensure that each student will continuously gain

new knowledge and learnings in any form.

In connection with this new normal challenges,Talavera South Central School

adapted the modular distance learning and also online kumustahan were made for

follow up learnings.

Grade VI- Earth under my supervision as class adviser conducted our online

kumustahan and classes every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as agreed by the

parents.

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 10-11:30 a.m. we have our online Question

and Answer about the lessons in the self-learning modules and learning activity

sheets distributed to them.several topics were discussed for them to fully understand

the lessons.

During Saturdays,I initiated an online reading exercises to promote mastery in

reading skills to my Grade VI students,specially to those who fall under frustration in

reading.
 I call this online reading exercise as project REST (R=eading E=xercises for

learners on S=aturdays T=ogether with parents).In this project I called each learner

through messenger together with their parents and let them read English passages

and stories,with the guidance of their parents and me as teacher the learners answer

some questions about what they have read.

This online kumustahan and reading exercise aims to promote learnings based

on most essential learning skills and to enhance reading skills among Grade VI

learners.This activities proves that in cooperation ….education can grow in the midst

of pandemic.
