USE:
- for actions which started in the past and are still continuing in the present. (Acciones que empezaron en
el pasado y aún continúan en el presente)
e.g. Mary has loved chocolate since she was a little girl. (A María le ha encantado el chocolote desde
que era pequeña y aún le sigue encantando)
- for actions which have recently finished and their results are visible in the present. (Acciones que acaban
de terminar y su resultado es visible en el presente)
e.g. Susan has already finished her homework. (Susan ya ha terminado su tarea)
- We use ever to ask about experiences: Have you ever flown by plane? (EVER= alguna vez-
sólo se usa en interrogativas)
-We use for to express duration. e.g. I have studied English for eight years. (He estudiado
inglés durante 8 años) (FOR= DURANTE-siempre va delante de un periodo de tiempo)
-We use since to state a starting point. e.g. She hasn't been to Europe since 1994. (SINCE=
DESDE- siempre va delante de un punto concreto en el tiempo: una fecha concreta)
-We use HOW LONG for questions (HOW LONG= ¿ CUÁNTO TIEMPO…?)
e.g. How long have they lived in the UK? (¿Cuánto tiemo han vivido en el Reino
Unido?)
-We use just in affirmative sentence. e.g. She has just met her uncle. (Ella acaba de
encontrarse con su tío) (JUST= ACABAR DE)
