5. What might the managers at Siemens AG have done differently?

Explain
August 2012, the German group Siemens AG, reached a €330 million ($438

billion) settlement with the Greek government over long- running allegations that

Siemens AG used bribery to secure a raft of contracts for the Athens Olympic

Games in 2004.

The company resorted to bribery to finalize the deal. But bribery is not a legal step.

That is why they were convicted of bribery and fined.

The company concluded the contract with a bribe because perhaps there was a
possibility that they would lose the contract. I think the company is less capable
economically or powerfully than other companies. That why they take illegal way
to finalize the deal.

In my opinion, if the managers at Siemens AG did not pay bribes but focused on
how to make their company stronger and more capable for this work than other
companies, then they would get more priority than other companies. This will
reduce the chances of losing the contract.
