ANALYSIS OF HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

(Maria taveras and Keidy Cando)

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, son of the chief of the Hooligan Tribe. The story
begins during the initiation, when Hiccup catches his dragon. He finds an
extraordinary and unique dragon, and decides to call him Toothless. The training of
this unique dragon caused him many troubles, such as being teased by a bully
named Snotlout. One of the biggest events in a Vikings career is "Thor's Day
Thursday", a day where all Vikings get together and show off their dragons and their
skills as a trainer. This is what Hiccup and Toothless spent most of their time
preparing and training for. At long last after many weeks of hard training the Thor's
day thursday event came. Sadly, things didn't go so good for anyone. The initiation
turned from a show your dragons skills to a battle to the death between Toothless
and Fireworm. Fireworm was Snoutlout's dragon, this was Toothless' arch enemy.
This unexpected battle upset all the members of the Hooligan tribe. But, that was
not the end of their troubles. A bigger problem was about to shake the Vikings'
world, forcing Hiccup and Toothless to team up with Snoutlout and Fireworm to save
their tribe. But as they teamed up they managed to win and everyone considered
them heros and congrat them with their cock-a-doodle-doo odd.

Clever plot twist

- The plot twist is that he was not able to catch a dragon.
Character Characteristics

1) HICCUP: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third was his name. Physically
he was not that tall but not that small, he had some sort of freckles and a
viking hat. He was an awesome sword fighter when he got brave and that's
like at the middle of the book because at the beginning he was shy and
showed himself as someone weak. He learned the dragonese language so he
was able to communicate with his good friend Toothless.

2) TOOTHLESS: He was the dragon that hiccup was going to catch but he
became Hiccups best friend. He was green and not the biggest but he was big
and he was toothless. He didn't seem wild like the rest of the dragons.

Development

Problems and their respective solution:

1) One: All of the vikings say Hiccup is useless and weak, even his own father.
-Solution: He proved everyone what he could do. He wasn't a warrior but he
had intellectual brilliance which saved everyone at the end of the story.
2) Two: Hiccup, as the son of the chief of the tribe, was expected to be an
incredible, brave and strong warrior, but he didn't even know how to catch a
dragon or train it.
-solution: He did catch one and became friends, they teamed up together with
the dragon toothless. As they become stronger together, the more the chiefs
are proud will be but something goes wrong.
