INSIGHT PAPER on “A Virtual Walk-Through of the DOLE”

The seminar was very insightful for aspiring lawyers, who might end up
representing clients in some proceedings of the Department of Labor and Employment
(DOLE) to facilitate the peaceful settlement of labor disputes and prevent them from
escalating into labor litigation cases. As future counsels, we must help our clients arrive
at a private, non-confrontational settlement agreement with their opponents without the
authority of an arbiter or judge to resolve the dispute in an employer-employee
relationship.

The DOLE is doing a great job in stressing the importance of a prosperous

relationship between workers and employers as an essential factor to enable
sustainable industrial climates that assure equal protection for the rights of all
concerned parties. Likewise, the DOLE-NCMB has been effecting strategies of
workplace relations enhancements in ensuring a harmonious and enduring climate of
industrial relations between workers and employers.

With proper guidance and training to future young lawyers in implementing the
mandated policies of the government, achieving the goals of sharing information,
discussing with one another, providing consultations, and negotiations would sustain a
labor relations climate conducive to productivity improvement of our economy.
