What factors contributed to Novartis’s invoice processing being so complex?

Novartis is a global company with more than 600 business units operating through 360 affiliates
in 140 countries. It serves more than 63,000 customers 200 locations and 25 data centers.
Invoicing the suppliers, customers, business affiliates and own employees in this massive
business entity is not an easy task. Paper form of invoicing involve a lot of human intervention
and transferring the forms and related information is time consuming. Tax laws are different in
different countries, paper invoice will have different formats and in different language that will
complicate the processing of those invoices at a central location. Different languages and
corresponding currency and conversion rating will make the invoicing more complicated for
companies like Novartis.

How did IT help the company solve that problem?

IT can provide software solution to fast, accurate document capture and multi-language

m
support. Transport of such electronic documents can be made easy through fax and email.

What other uses and functions does InputAccel serve, and how will this be useful to Novartis over the
long term?
aC s
vi y re

InputAccel providing accounting and invoicing solution to Novartis, increasing the overall
efficiency of Novartis enabling to have more focus on its primary function of research and
development of pharmaceutical products. Changing medical practices, availability or

political event like Brexit may impact the invoicing process. InputAccel can make a quick
change in the appropriate portion of the software, without impacting the overall invoice
