"What you plant now, you will harvest later.

"

After watching the video, it reminds me of the days when we were in lockdown a
year ago. Adults have been preoccupied with gardening and planting. I never engage
myself with those activities; I'd rather chose to sleep the whole day than wasting my extra
energy with those kinds of stuff. But everything has changed. I began to understand the
importance of planting; I started to get interested, which prompted me to conduct
research. At this time, I helped my mother decorating our home with flowers; planting
seeds in our backyard.

For many Filipino families, planting, propagating, and fruit-bearing has become a
source of income and livelihood. Meanwhile, I've realized that trees don't only meet our
socio-economic needs, but there are benefits derived from trees to maintain a healthy
environment, such: They provide shade and fresh air around the house, streets, and
surroundings, they protect the soil from erosion, they help maintain high-quality water
supply, the root system promotes soil stability, serve as valuable wildlife habitats, serve as
windbreakers during typhoons and storms, help reduce pollutions in congested urban
areas, they contribute to the beautiful landscape, and prevent floods.

Overall, the video taught me that everyone can be a successful orchard grower as
they possess the qualities of determination, hardworking and willingness to succeed. I've
also realized that it's not too late to appreciate this type of work; everybody must agree to
plant trees so that when the time comes for scarcity, there will be something to reap. Since
life is unpredictable, it's never a terrible idea to prepare.
