Story Of Wildflower Pinoy Show

Jan 23, 2018·3 min read

The story follows Lily Cruz (Maja Salvador), a beautiful and smart
heiress who wants justice for her parents’ deaths by seeking
revenge against the evil Ardiente family.

Lily Cruz is raised by her parents with love and wisdom. Her
mother, Camia, (Sunshine Cruz) is a school teacher while her
father, Dante (Christian Vazquez) is a public attorney. Dante’s last
case brings threats to their peaceful life, so the Cruz family moves
to the small towns of Poblacion Ardiente, where they plan to set up
a daycare for Camia and Dante’s own law firm. Lily easily finds
friends (including Diego Torillo (Joseph Marco), the youngest son
of the Ardiente family). The Ardiente family is the most powerful
political dynasty in the town under the rule of Congressman Julio
Ardiente (Tirso Cruz III) and his daughter Emilia (Aiko
Melendez), Governor of the province. Emilia is married to
businessman (and known serial womanizer) Raul Torillo (Wendell
Ramos). They have two sons, Arnaldo (RK Bagatsing) and Diego.

Complications follow when Raul is smitten with Camia. This

catches Emilia’s attention, who is quite fed up with her husband’s
indiscretions and many rape charges. Feeling the entitlement of
the powerful, Raul attempts to assault Camia, so Dante files a rape
case against him. Unfortunately, the Ardientes do not take threats
lightly.

Lily’s world crumbles when Dante suspiciously dies from a heart

attack; she is further crushed when she witnesses her mother’s
rape. Though she is targeted to be killed herself, the assassins feel
compassion for the 9 year old and frees her instead. Alone with
nowhere to go, Lily fends for herself in another city until a wealthy
woman, Prianka Aguas (Priscilla Meirelles) rescues her from life in
the streets.

Prianka legally adopts Lily and raises her to become tough and
independent. Prianka teaches Lily to think smart and equips her
with the resources she needs to seek the truth about the Ardientes
and justice for her parents. When Prianka dies, Lily inherits her
fortune. Lily returns to Poblacion Ardiente to avenge her parents.

Lily introduces herself as Ivy Aguas. With her billion dollar

conglomerate behind her, she becomes a magnet for the Ardientes
who are preparing their political campaign for the gubernatorial
and congressional elections. A power struggle brews inside the
Ardientes between Emilia and Arnaldo. Ivy becomes reacquainted
with Diego, who turns out to be the bastard son of Raul. But as Ivy
continues with her plans to expose the Ardientes, she develops
feelings for Diego, who renounces the Ardientes and decides to
run for Governor as well.

Lily begins to execute her intricate plan to bring down the

Ardientes; she ingratiates herself with Emilia (as an avid campaign
supporter for her political ambitions while gathers evidence to
expose Emilia with plunder charges), seduces Arnaldo (who she
realizes is the family’s weakness) and reduces him to an
incapacitated state; she pushes Julio Ardiente out of retirement to
take him down completely; unfortunately, the Ardientes’ power
and influence reaches the powerful in the justice system. Although
she cripples the Ardientes’ power base and strips Julio of his
governorship, she is unsuccessful in keeping Julio and Emilia
behind bars. Her plan backfires as a new and more formidable
enemy emerges called “Red Dragon” who turns out to be Julio’s
first wife and Emilia’s mother. She is successful in bringing down
the Red Dragon, and Julio ultimately kills her. Realizing Emilio is
a handicap due to her emotional attachments, he commits her into
a psychiatric clinic. Without the encumbrances of Emilia and
Helena, Julio prepares to take over Red Dragon’s money, power
base and connections with the Asian crime syndicate. Arnaldo is
back as well, gaining his mental capacity. Both men focus on
destroying Lily. You can Watch Online Pinoyako TV Replay Here.

As Lily and Camia begin to pick up the pieces of their lives, Lily
discovers that Arnaldo’s memories are back. Will she continue her
vengeance? Her biggest challenge is to sustain the love in her heart
to pave the way for forgiveness and justice.

10 Reasons to Watch Epic Drama-
Serye “Sahaya”

After the success of “epikserye” Amaya and Indio, GMA Network once again
offers another epic drama-serye – “Sahaya” – a new television series that aims
to capture the richness of Philippine indigenous culture with the story mainly
based on the way of life of the Badjao people.

Badjao are an ethnic group also known as the “Sea Gypsies” and are scattered
along the coastal areas of Tawi Tawi, Sulu, Basilan and some parts of
Zamboanga del Sur. Living on houseboats and stilt houses, Badjao are also
known to be expert fishermen and deep sea divers as they make their livelihood
solely on the sea.

The “Sahaya” series tells the story of a young Badjao woman who inspires her
family and community because of her positive outlook in life. Actress Bianca
Umali plays the titular role “Sahaya” which translates to “light and hope” while
onscreen partner Miguel Tanfelix plays the character of a simple Badjao named
Ahmad who will fall in love with Sahaya.

Good News Pilipinas came up with10 reasons why we should watch the TV
series “Sahaya” scheduled to premiere worldwide this March 18:

LUMAD SERYE
While most TV series in the country often copy and use staple themes and plots
about romance, love, trust, betrayal, and revenge, Sahaya offers a unique and
fresh concept for the audience.

The Sahaya trailer teases how the new TV series shows the rich traditions of
Badjao people in the south – their way of life, language, and more. The show
promises to give the opportunity to these lumad sea gypsies to showcase their
colorful culture on television, and would, the producers hope, elevate their
societal status away from mistreatment and discrimination.

Lead actress Bianca Umali shared in an interview with Manila Standard some of
the series’ highlights.

“The series has a bit of everything, there’s romance, there’s drama, and it has a
cultural aspect. It also talks about life, the importance of education and family.
And the best thing that we wanted to highlight in this series is women
empowerment,” Umali said.

The cast underwent training and workshops to face the big challenge of properly
portraying their respective Badjao characters, how to appreciate Badjao
heritage and correctly speak Filipino and Badjao languages.

Speaking of language, if you fell in love with the ‘enchanta,’ the language of
Diwatas and Sapiryans in Encantadia, or with the ancient Tagalog and Bisayan
words in Amaya, then surely you will enjoy learning Badjao words and
embracing them as part of your household.

BIGUEL LOVE TEAM

Playing the role of Sahaya and Ahmad is one of today’s biggest love teams –
Biguel – composed of Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix. Their chemistry has
grown and had already been captured on different TV series created by GMA
Drama such as “Mga Basang Sisiw,” “Once Upon A Kiss,” “Mulawin vs Ravena,”
and “Kambal Karibal.”

A GMA TV executive shared that Bianca is “perfect” and was chosen to play the
title role because of her physical features – her skin color and big eyes – that
resemble a Badjao girl.

Aside from dance workshops, teen actors Bianca and Miguel also underwent
diving lessons and studied their characters and the Badjao culture. Bianca
described her role as the “most challenging” to date.
“I immersed myself in the background of the character I play. I researched. I
practiced their local language and it’s really fun. The story is very beautiful.
Here, I’m an honor student who dreams to uplift the lives of my tribe,” Bianca
Umali shared.

Adding twist to Sahaya and Ahmad’s love story is Jordan – played by Filipino-
Australian actor Migo Adecer, a Manileno who falls in love with Sahaya and will
become a rival to Ahmad.

IGAL DANCE

Sahaya will also feature Badjao people’s traditional dance – Igal – composed of
movements patterned from the flow of nature (mostly from air and water)
through bend poses while flicking fingers, wrists, and arms. The fluid, slow and
hypnotic movement is accompanied with drums and kulintangan.

Igal dance is a regional folk dance which is present in the culture of other ethnic
groups in southern Philippines and of other countries in Southeast Asia. It is
performed in various important occasions. Tausug people call their version
“Pangalay,” and the Yakan tribe calls it “Mangalay.”

Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Ligaya Fernando-Amilbangsa, who spent decades

studying and preserving this beautiful dance, is said to be one of Sahaya’s
cultural consultant.

LOCATION SET
GMA Network has surely invested so much in the production of Sahaya. Based
on the report, 20 people led the recreation of a Badjao Village in Calatagan,
Batangas. The location set was constructed in a rented shore for six months,
including stilts houses made of environmental friendly materials and wooden
boats.

Production team members had immersion activities in Tawi-Tawi and

Zamboanga to allow them to have an accurate picture of the Badjao village
prior to the construction of the Sahaya location set.
In a press conference, Program Manager Helen Rose Sese shared why their
team chose to build the set in that location.

“It’s an Instagram-worthy location. We studied every detail when we went to

Tawi-Tawi including the baskets and boats we have on the set… they are
custom-made. And the set is strategically located to capture the sunset,” Sese
said.

SCENIC CINEMATOGRAPHY

With the Badjao’s vibrant culture, Sahaya is expected to offer pleasing colors to
the viewers. The location is perfect to capture the sunset onscreen, not to
mention the aerial shots and footage initially shown in the teasers and trailers.

Director Zig Dulay, known for his meticulous and cinematic approach evident in
his other projects in “Wish Ko Lang” and “Wagas” episodes, was commended by
GMA Program Manager for his angle and camera movements.

ROSTER OF FINE ACTORS

GMA TV series Sahaya has a roster of fine actors and actresses:

 Mylene Dizon – Manisan, a Badjaw who fell for Harold, a Shristian,

and ended up raising her daughter alone
 Jasmine Curtis-Smith – the young Manisan
 Zoren Legaspi – Harold, Sahaya’s father who abandons her mother
 Gil Cuerva – the young Harold
 Pen Medina – Panglima Alari, Manisan’s father and the Panglima
(leader) of the Sama Dilaut
 Karl Medina – young Alari
 Debra Liz – Babu, Sahaya’s grandmother
 Juan Rodrigo – Bapa, older brother of Panglima Alari
 Snooky Serna – Salida, a wealthy Badjao, a loving yet vengeful
mother
 Benjamin Alves – Aratu, Salida’s son
 Ana Roces – Irene, Harold’s loyal wife who will do anything to protect
her family
 Ashley Ortega – Lindsay, Jordan’s spoiled cousin
 Eric Quizon – Hubert, Jordan’s father whose business is coral mining
SUZETTE DOCTOLERO

Sahaya headwriter Suzette Doctolero is also the creator of top-rating local TV

series such as Encantadia, Amaya, Indio, My Husband’s Lover, and more. These
TV series were shown not just in the Philippines but also in Southeast Asia and
other parts of the world.

With the number of successful TV series under her belt, Sahaya is expected to
be spectacular, full of excitement, and tackles the theme closest to the writer’s
heart – women empowerment.

RITA GAVIOLA
Badjao girl Rita Gaviola, whose photo went viral years ago and had the
opportunity to be one of the housemates in Pinoy Big Brother, is now part of the
new GMA-7 TV series.
Rita was spotted lining up inside the GMA Network to audition in the Kapuso
reality show “Starstruck” last January. She was eventually cast to be part of the
upcoming primetime series.

ZIG DULAY
With writers Marlon Miguel and Jonathan Cruz, and Creative Director Aloy
Adlawan, the grand production of Sahaya is under the helm of award-winning
director Zig Dulay.

Last year, Zig Dulay bagged the top prize at the 2018 Vesoul International Film
Festival of Asian Cinema in France for his film “Bagahe.” He also won the Best
Screenplay award in Cinemalaya 2017.

SOON TO BE ON NETFLIX?

With the huge investment by GMA Network in the primetime series “Sahaya,”
could it be the network’s bid for airing on Netflix?

Program Manager Sese shared that it will be the first time for GMA Drama to
use C700 cameras – the same equipment being used in producing high-end
shots on Netflix shows.

She said, “I’m just happy to share with you na nag-taping na kami and I’ve
seen the materials. Ang galing ni Direk Zig Dulay, ang ganda ng materials niya,
ang ganda ng camera movements niya, ng shots. And this is also the first time
that GMA Drama will use the C700 cameras, so ito yung akma na puwedeng
pang-Netflix.”

If it materializes, “Sahaya” will make history as the first TV series from the
Philippines to make waves on Netflix.

Join “Sahaya” in her adventure, replacing the timeslot of Onanay in GMA

Telebabad and let us know in the comments below your good wishes for the
new Filipino epic series!
Series overview
Main article: List of Ang Probinsyano episodes

Ang Probinsyano has four narrative arcs or "books".

The first book (Syndicate Arc) ran from 2015 through 2017 spanning the first and second seasons
and focused on the various cases Cardo encountered as a member of the CIDG, both related and
unrelated to its main arc.
The second book (Rebellion and Terrorism Arc)[7] contains the third and fourth seasons of the series
and focused on Cardo's encounters with the "Pulang Araw" (transl. Red Sun) both as a member
of Special Action Force and undercover under the nom de guerre "Agila" (transl. Eagle), and later as
part of the vigilante group "Vendetta".
The third book (Political Arc)[8] covers the series' fifth and sixth seasons and focuses on the larger
political drama in the Philippines.
The fourth book (Crime and Corruption Arc),[9] on the other hand, opened with the series' seventh
season and chronicles Cardo's return to the police force and his continued efforts to fight crime and
corruption in the country. This is followed by the show's eight season which sees Lily moving to
consolidate her power as both the first lady of the Republic and leader of an international drug cartel
in the Philippines.[10]

FPJ's Ang Probinsyano (lit. 'FPJ's The Provincial Man'), alternatively titled Brothers, is a

2015 Philippine action drama television series aired on ABS-CBN. Based on the 1997 film of the
same name starring Fernando Poe Jr., the series stars a large ensemble cast that is top-billed
by Coco Martin.[5] First aired on September 28, 2015, it became the longest-running drama series on
Philippine television,[6] with more than 1,300 episodes aired as of 2021. ABS-CBN have been airing
new episodes on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5 and online via iWantTFC, TFC
IPTV and Kapamilya Online Live due to the controversial non-renewal of the network's franchise. It is
also aired internationally through The Filipino Channel on cable and satellite.

oncept
Hot off the heels of Martin's portrayal of PS/Insp. Garry Eraña on the "Plano" episode of Maalaala
Mo Kaya which served as a tribute to the SAF 44,[38][39] ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-
Concio floated the idea of creating of an action drama series that particularly aims to give
importance to the police force in an effort to help them "regain the love and respect of the people".
Coco Martin, who would be later named as the series' lead actor, was involved in the production
shoot for the series, proposed that the production team create a television adaptation of Fernando
Poe Jr.'s film Ang Probinsyano. When asked why Martin chose to adapt Ang Probinsyano, he
explained that he and his grandmother enjoyed watching films of the action star growing up. The
widow of Fernando Poe Jr., Susan Roces reportedly gave her blessing to the production team to
adopt her late spouse's film.[40]
Ang Probinsyano is not a remake of the 1997 film of the same name. It was made to be run for
months to be more suitable for teleserye viewers.[41]
The title of the original film was inspired by the term "pulis patola" which is occasionally used to
tease newbie police officers. Since patola, or cucumber of the genus Luffa, is usually grown in the
provinces outside urban areas such as Manila, the film was given the title Ang Probinsyano.[41]
A special tribute screening of the film was held on 20 August 2015, in celebration of FPJ's 76th
birthday and ahead of the premiere of the TV adaptation. [42] The screening was attended by the cast
of the series Coco Martin, Susan Roces, Maja Salvador, Bela Padilla, Beverly Salviejo and Jaime
Fàbregas who also served as the film's musical director. [42]
The first trailer of the series was shown on 4 September 2015. [43]

"The Rich Man’s Daughter", the first Filipino lesbian drama, will make you cry
GagaOOLalaLesbian seriesThe Rich Man's Daughter Film Reviews / Apr. 19, 2018 Back
to top 分享至 facebook 分享至 LINE Before being released, the Filipino lesbian drama
The Rich Man’s Daughter took the lesbian community by storm, and now it is finally
available in other countries in Asia on GagaOOLala. Actually, The Rich Man’s Daughter
is the second LGBT themed TV series from the Philippines after another GMA Channel
gay series titled My Husband’s Lover, also available on GagaOOLala. The Philippines has
been colonized by several Western countries in the past, heavily influencing their
culture and religion. Catholicism became the biggest faith in the country, a religion that
openly opposes the LGBT community. In addition, the Philippines is the only country,
together with the Vatican, that stills considers divorce illegal. Therefore, we can assume
that a TV series featuring an LGBT relationship was quite a big deal in the Filipino news
cycle. The storyline of The Rich Man’s Daughter surrounds a rich Chinese girl, Jade.
Born within a wealthy family, Jade has nothing to be concerned about: she has the
perfect the family, the perfect job and the perfect fiancé who her parents expect her to
marry as soon as possible. However, everything changes when she meets Althea. Jade’s
family comes from Fujian, China. The setting not only reflects the generally high social
status of Chinese people in the Philippines, but also gives ASEAN audiences a sense of
familiarity. Especially, when later on, Jade starts to quarrel with her family because of
her relationship with Althea, and her parents threaten her with the consequences her
relationship will have in the family’s honor. Jade is stuck between love and family,
something we all have experiences. Meanwhile, it is sad to see how even though the
Philippines has been exposed to Western culture for a while, it still cannot get rid of the
Chinese family traditions. When you watch The Rich Man’s Daughter, you may just feel
like it is just another sentimental soap opera. It may be filled with cliché characters and
(over)twisted plots. But no matter what it is, thanks to the sweet and beautiful lesbian
relationship, the final result is excellent. You may accidentally become obsessed with
Jade and Althea’s sweet, and sometimes twisted, relationship. However, those used to
Western TV series might feel disappointed. Being already difficult for the Philippines to
have a lesbian drama, it was almost impossible for them to have a lesbian kiss or bed
scene, but we still get to enjoy Jade and Althea’s intimate interactions and sexually-
charged eye contact. But those of you that get to the end, the series has a surprise
waiting for you… The Rich Man’s Daughter is Philippine’s second LGBT TV series, and
we can see how they ambitiously try to expand their scope dealing with several social
issues such as domestic violence, marriage, child custody, and, even, conversion
therapy. These are the important issues all worth discussing. Thanks to the easily
reachable medium of television, we have a chance to explore these issues in depth and,
at the same, to listen to another moving and realistic LGBT story. Watch The Rich Man's
Daughter now on GagaOOLala.

GMA 7’s newest leading man—or rather leading lady—is more than ready to embark
on his beautiful transformation on TV.
Actor Ken Chan is given the biggest break of his career as he takes on the title role of
the Kapuso network’s upcoming afternoon prime series “Destiny Rose.”

“I can’t be any happier right now. I still can’t believe I got the role,” said Chan in an
interview on Tuesday during a press conference for the series.
“Destiny Rose” tells the story of Joey who is a loving family man, an impassioned
student and aspiring writer. He would later go through episodes of miseries in life as
he followed his dreams and pursued his truest desire—to become a woman.
Previously appearing in supporting roles in other dramas including “Healing Hearts”
and “Rhodora X,” Chan was grateful to GMA executives for granting him the huge
project. “I am so inspired. I always look forward to every shooting day,” he said.
In the story, Chan’s character Joey gets involved in a whirldwind of love and loss with
his pen pal Filipino-Italian Gabriele Antonioni (played by model-actor Fabio Ide).
“This is the first time that we are doing a [series with a] heroine who is a transgender
woman. The story is universal. It doens’t matter if you’re gay, straight, lesbian or
bisexual. Love is universal and this is a love story. This is not only for the LGBT

Giving justice to the role
To prepare for his role, Chan said he went through a series of workshops with the
other members of the cast with the help of his mentors, most especially from director
Perez.
He believes that his portrayal of Destiny Rose will give him a great deal of fulfillment
as as an actor. “I am really confident that I could give justice to the role. That is really
my goal, to show the viewers that I can embody [the Destiny Rose persona],” he said.

He said he had been seeking advice from gay people and transgender women to be
able to tackle the role better.
“The most important advice I learned from them is I have always to think like a
woman. When you internalize that you are really a woman, the behavior, the gestures
would come naturally,” he said.
Veteran actor Michael de Mesa, who is also notable for his gay portrayals, has lauded
Chan for his attack on the role.
“I haven’t yet done scenes with [Ken]. But what I saw (on the teaser) … I saw an
actor. To play a character … somebody who is a [trangender woman], it is very easy
to go over the top. It’s easy to look caricaturish. His treatment to the character and the
way he attacked it, it’s just the right blend.”
In the series, De Mesa is a rich philantropist named Rosauro Armani Vitto who would
help change Joey’s life.

Quick change
Chan revealed he had to lose weight for the role and consult a doctor for his diet. “It’s
really difficult. I go on a diet to the point that it [unusually] affects my mind.”
“I did a lot of research about transgender women…about girls. How they live, how
they act, how they their attitudes go as a woman,” Chan added.
The most difficult part of being a woman, the 20-year-old actor said, was the physical
transformation. Wearing high heels and women’s clothes is another thing he has to
acquaint himself with.
“I now understand why women stay so long in restrooms and are very conscious about
how they look,” he said.
Chan doesn’t find it scary to be typecast as an actor and also be labeled as gay. “As
long I know the limit of what I can do as an actor, as long I know who I am, I have
nothing to be afraid of,” he said. “As an actor I know how to cling to a character and
also detach from it.”
The other cast members of “Destiny Rose” are Manilyn Reynes, Jackielou Blanco,
Katrina Halili, Sheena Halili, Joko Diaz, Irma Adlawan and JC Tiuseco.
The series will start airing on Sept. 14 after “Buena Familia” on GMA’s Afternoon
Prime.
