PHLGA MEETING MINUTES

Date: March 25, 2021

Call to Order: PHLGA Vice President Janis Paul called the meeting to order at
12:45
In Attendance: There were 26 members in attendance.

Approval of minutes: January minutes and February Minutes were approved.

From Our President: None submitted.

Reports:
Treasurers Report: Presented by Karen Lord

(a) Operating Fund: $4,207.17

(b) Kactus Kapers Fund: $3,082.9
(c) Cash in Bank Account: $7290.11
(d) Paid $268.37 for the Jill of the Hill prizes
(e) Collected $322 from those participating in Border at Red Hawk and
immediately paid those funds out to Red Hawk WGA

Border: Presented by Jean Davis

(a) Congratulations to those who played at Red Hawk.
(b) Rosemary McKeown 1st Gross in the First Flight, Jean Davis 1st Net
in the Second Flight and Donna Popky 2nd Gross in the Eighth Fight
(c) The next Border will be at Picacho Hills on April 15, 2021
(d) There is paperwork in our locker room if you are interested in joining
either Border or Senior Womens’ organization.

Kactus Kapers: Presented by Janis Paul

(a) The tournament dates are 9 /28 – 9/30

(b) The invitations for Kactus Kapers will be going out May 15, 2021.
Member/Member: Presented by Lynn Zeemont
(a) Lynn presented the invitation for the LGA Member/Member
tournament.
(b) The date is May 20, 2021 and it is a single day tournament.
(c) There will be 3 Flights, 2 for the 18 hole and 1 for the 9 hole
competitors. It will be a shotgun start.
(d) Lunch will be available after playing and prizes presented.
(e) Sign up will be electronic as daily play is done. One member per team
should sign the team up noting playing partner.

Historian: Presented by Candy Slover

(a) No report given.

Advisory Board Feedback: Presented by Paula Hansen

(a) After contacting the Health Department and doing research it was
determined that we did not have to wear masks while on the golf
course. We must still wear them while on the grounds near the club, in
the golf shop and in the dining areas.
(b) The roof issues are to be fixed.
(c) The course will be closed April 6th, 7th, 8th for aerification of the greens.
(d) No LGA on Thursday April 8th or 15th 2021 due to aerification and
Border. April 22nd will be an Individual match play and our next Jill will
be April 29th.
(e) All divots must be fixed.
(f) We are waiting on the county to approve the permit for the demolition
of the pool area.
(g) The Pro Shop will put our teams together for play day. We are not to
request playing partners.

 (h) The Presidents Cup tournament has been moved to November 10 and
11, 2021 due to Linda Ward’s hip replacement.

Playday: Presented by Paula Hanse

(a) Winners of each flight were announced.

(b) Jill of the Hill: Kaye Frye

Voting:
(a) No new issue was voted on.

Birthdays: Joyce Sartwell, Rita Burman, Vicki Hook and Rosanna Conley

Guest Speaker: Todd Barranger the GM for PHCC joined the meeting to inform
the LGA of the new improvements that were planned for 2021 and 2022. We will
be seeing improvements, temporary buildings, a pool area and a new club house.
