PHLGA MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order

PHLGA President, Paula Hansen at 12:37 p.m. called the meeting to order.

February 26, 2019 meeting minutes were approved.

Reports

President’s Report (Paula Hansen):

 Thank you note received from Erica Boston, Tyler’s mother for allowing him the
opportunity to do a presentation at February’s meeting.
 April 1 – PHLGA Play Day tee time will be 8:30 am.
 April 1 - No denim clothing is allowed on the course.
 Lynn Zeemont is working on the Open Scramble to take place April 30.
 Pam Sherry is relocating to Gulf Shore, Alabama.
 PGA Professional Chris Ortiz is the new Assistant General Manager and Director
of Golf.
 Email virus:
o Golf email blasts are safe to open.
o April 1 – will be replacing all servers and all emails will be safe.
 Member Investment:
o Slow start - $250,000 was activity as of 3/21.
o Encouraged everyone to get on board and support the Club.
o April 1st is the deadline.
 MGA approached President to discuss some joint tournament opportunities this
summer.

Treasurer’s Report (Valerie Heller):

 Kactus Kapers Fund - $4,733.77 reduced by $500 for donation to Mesilla Valley
Hospice as previously agreed.
 Provided a hard copy of the Financial Statement for all.

Border Report (Candy Slover):

 Reminded members to sign up for NMSU on 4/25 by April 1.

President’s Cup & LGA Championship (Lynn Zeemont):

 Date is April 8-9 - $25 fee.
 21 players to date.

 Sign-up sheet in Ladies Lounge on the Bulletin Board.

Kactus Kapers (Donna Lafreniere):

 Will be setting up a meeting Mid-April – will advise date.

Ringer (Judy Lubeck):

 Update will be posted next week.

Miscellaneous:
 Paula Hansen: Sun Country tournament 3/30-31 course closed to players until
after 2pm.
 Lynn Zeemont: Attorney Fund Donation checks on their way to those who
donated.
 Candy Slover: Just Gal’s Monthly Dinner: If you are not receiving the email about
it please let her know so she can put you on the email notice.
