Q1. Explain the concept of profession. Discuss teaching as a profession.

Concept of profession:

It is a type of job that needs high skill, knowledge and education.


When a person becomes a professional worker, he needs training and skill for that profession.
Through this profession, one tries one’s best to serve the populace. For instance, a profession
may a teacher, doctor, engineer and bureaucrat.

Teaching as profession:

Teaching is an activity of instructing and learning. A teacher


teaches students and gives them informative ideas and opinions. Instructions of teacher not
only polish pupils’ minds, but also change their future. Certainly, a teacher plays vital role for
the development of a society. It is the greatest profession than others. Reason is that, it a
teacher who breeds doctors, engineer, bureaucrat and other important personality in a society.
Therefore, teaching is a quality profession which leads to development and progress in a
region.

Q2. Define professionalization. Also discuss process of professionalization.

Professionalization:

It is a process of making an activity more professional. It requires


slandered qualification and skills to make a job more pro-active. It also creates many opportunities for
individuals’ effective learning and skill.
Process of professionalization:

1. Recognition the importance of work:

It is necessary to
give importance to your occupation. When you give it importance, you strive hard for
improving its quality and standard. For instance, when a person becomes a teacher, he
improves his knowledge and skills in order to instruct and teaches students well.

2. Use supporting research:

It is another important factor to uplift profession. One


can boost one’s skills and knowledge for job. When a person conducts research, he works on a
problem so as to find out solvation. Additionally, research base study not only boosts one’s
capability, but also helps one to deal issue.

3. Stress the multifaceted of nature of profession:

A person needs to have experience and


knowledge for a specific job. For instance, he should be an effective communicator, organizer
and problem solver. Although a teacher does not know all subjects, he should possess teaching
skill and instructs students wisely.

4. Contribute to organization community at large:

As a profession person, one shares one’s ideas and


knowledge with organization community. Similarly, a teacher responsibility is not only to teach
students, but he is life changer of students.
Q3. Describe code of professional conduct and values in teaching profession.

Code of professional conduct:

It refers that a person actively participates in a particular field of


job. For instance, a teacher takes part in education department and gives his best for progress
of and development of society. He teaches students; assesses them and conducts research and
so on.

Professional value in teaching:

Teaching is considered the noblest profession, and teacher is the


key factor for the development of a society. There are a few professional values of teaching
given following.

1. Justice to profession:

A teacher becomes loyal and does justice to his profession when he


becomes a good teacher. A good teacher is a role model for a society. As a result, he leads and
produces scholars and think tank in society.

2. Professional responsibilities:

There are many responsibilities of a teacher. Such as, he


teaches and gives instruction to students in classroom. He also takes part in social activities in
society.
3. Attitude :

A teacher possesses a good nature of behavior. This is because teacher


always gives lesion to students that they must obey their parents and respect elder people in
society.

4. Fairness:

A teacher treats his students equally. It means teacher gives position to


pupils according to their capabilities.

5. Assessment of student:

Teacher plays a vital role for success of students. A teacher assesses pupils’
knowledge and skills daily. So that he is aware of weakness of students.

6. Cooperation with students:

Teaching is the only profession that teaches us to cooperate with


others. For example, teachers always guide students to back up poor people in society.

Q4. Explain reflective practice and self-regulation as attributes of a good teacher.

Reflective practice of a good teacher:


Reflective practice refers to concern on action and continuous
learning process for better outcomes. Similarly, a good teacher analyses how to improve his
teaching method and gives quality education to students. There are some reflective practice of
a good teacher given following.

1. A teacher realizes his motive:

A good teacher always sets an objective before teaching


students. He teaches pupils wisely and strives hard to achieve his motive of teaching.

2. Promote moral behavior to students:

A sound teacher tries his every effort to improve behavior


of pupils. For improving attitudes of students, a teacher teaches and gives instruction to
students.

3. Perfect assessment:

A good teacher adopts various assessment tools to evaluate capabilities and


knowledge of students.

4. Plan lessons that work:

Lesson plan is the best way to teach students wisely.


This is because an effective lesson plan provides a better teaching and learning environment in
classroom.

Self-regulation of a good teacher:


A good teacher controls a classroom while teaching and
learning. He controls his all emotion like frustration and excitement. He only focuses on his task
rather than wasting time of students.

Q5. Critically comment on changing role of teacher in 21st century.

Introduction:

A teacher plays a decisive role for progress and development of a


society .Teacher is the key factor for better feature of students. In the 21st century, Education
system has radically changed .Education depends on thinking skills, interpersonal skills,
information media, technological skills as well as life skills. A teacher emphasizes on students
life and career skill rote learning.

Changing role of teachers in the 21st century:

1. A planner for 21st century careers:

In the 21st century, teacher is planner to support


students for their career life. The futures of pupils rely on critical thinking, communication and
creativity (4G’s).It is responsibility of teacher to teach these terms effectively to students.

2. A resource provider:
In the modern day, a teacher teaches pupils from various prospects
and gives them different resources of learning. For example, it can be YouTube, e library and
digital content.

3. A digital instructor for different ways of learning:

In this digital age, a teacher is not limited .He


instructs students in a way that measures learning more meaningful than previous one. They
give practical example to pupils in the 21st century.

4. Learning facilitator:

A digital teacher not only teaches students in classroom, but also


become supporter technology and shows pupils and how to study updated on their subject.

5. A genuine predictor:

In the 21 st century, a teacher knows about participation-based learning


requisition-based learning .It is necessary to keep cooperation with one another for bringing
innovation in the technology sector. So, teacher knows how to ensure attitude, knowledge and
skills.
