Advantages: Information gate to the global world . Enrich us with the enlightened
knowledge and thoughts . grants peaceful life if well utilized .
Disadvantages: Destroy our mental and moral abilities due to the millions of
pornographic materials that are unfairly posted on websites.
Internet is unluckily used by some rogue gangs and malicious posters as a platform to
launch malicious attacks on people and facilities etc. and many more. The internet has
been the most outstanding innovation in the fields of information technology and
productivity, and although it has ushered in a new golden age of information, its
crowning feat has been to make the world a much smaller place. Within seconds, you
can now interact with anybody in the vast world. However, like a double-edged sword, it
cuts both ways. The malevolent phantoms of dependence and even addiction plague the
netizens of the twenty-first century. Firstly, the creation and the spread of the internet, as
stated above, has erased the dimension of space in interpersonal, intercommunal, and
international communication. This revolution in communication has brought various to
the masses. It can provide people with the infrastructure to share their ideas, beliefs,
values, and emotions to the whole world. Social media, especially, can help people
connect to friends, colleagues, and family around the world.
In the pre-internet era, we had limited technologies for using and reusing information.
Take printing technology, for instance. After its invention by the Chinese inventor Bi
Sheng, who made ceramic movable type circa 1045, and Johannes Gutenberg, who
first made metal movable type cast in a hand mold circa 1450, book printing became
less expensive and more widespread.

4. In your personal opinion, in what way does Internet affect the society
positively/negatively in the future? Explain your answer.
The Internet has turned our world on its head. It has revolutionized communications to
the point where it is now our preferred mode of communication on a daily basis. We use
the Internet in almost every aspect of our lives. Ordering pizza, purchasing a television,
sharing a moment with a friend, and sending a photo via instant messaging are just a
few examples. If you wanted to keep up with the news before the Internet, you had to go
down to the newsstand first thing in the morning and buy a local edition reporting on the
previous day’s events. However, today, a few clicks are all it takes to read your local
paper as well as any news source from anywhere in the world, all of which are updated
to the minute.
Internet Negative Impacts Easy availability of age unsuitable content materials and
information. Social networks disturb life personally and professionally. Stealing data or
hacking into any devices is easy. Using the internet to spread bad scenarios or fake
news and last cyberbullying and young misuse the Internet to much like doing bad
things.
I consider myself to be media and information literate, which means I understand not
only how to use media and share information, but also the obligations that come with it.
We also need to be aware of computer/media ethics, which considers how to use media
properly and ethically now that we have these modern technologies. Before we share
information through the media, we must think many times.
