Do we want to expand our social circle? Or are we just here for our baccalaureate degree?

What is it that we want to acquire by going to college?

Entering college life is what I’m afraid most. Why? It’s because of the great adjustment I’m going to
make. New environment, new classmates, new friends, new teachers/instructors and a new life. It is far
from being just a typical high school student.

It was time for making introductions in front of the class, the usual routine during the first day. When I
was sitting at my chair, I am not nervous in introducing myself because I experienced it so many times.

August 5, 2020- It was the day I was waiting for, the day that will start my new life, my chosen field and
my future. This is the day that I thought the start of my dreams but also the start of not ending study,
learning and challenges.

The night ended and the morning comes it was a very calm and quite morning. The wind blows into my
face and says “this is it!” I wear the shirt and pants that I prepared last night.

Finally, I step up and come to my new home Lyceum-Northwestern University I walked around and
found my first room. Then I saw my new classmates none of them is familiar, there are all new faces in
my eyes. This starts my mix emotions happy to meet new people, sad to let go my high school friends,
nervous about my new teachers and excited about how my life will turn.

Choosing your course in college has always been one of the most important and wisest decisions that
you have to decide because you have to choose the best course that does not only matches your
interest because you have to choose the best because your Future depends on it…

I’ve met so many new and wonderful people, and built up a friend group of people who are struggling
with the same things as I am; we support each other, and they’re always there for me. I feel so
accomplished when I’m able to walk up to someone in the cafeteria and say hi! At the beginning of the
year, I was lost in a sea of strangers, but now I recognize so many faces.

As a college student awaiting to graduate and start my career, the nursing field I find is one of the best
career choices to choose from. Nursing is known to be a main consideration to young people today
when entering the medical field. Nursing has a wide variety of options and different positions for
anyone. Nursing is sometimes looked at as an unimportant job, or just a person who helps the doctors
above them. In fact nursing has an abundance of definitions and different job titles. RNs, LPNs, etc.
Some may say and ask, why enter nursing? What can it do for me and others? Nursing is just a woman’s
job, and other things in that sort. With nursing being a wide selected job profession. It’s always around
and always a good opportunity for work. Also nursing is a target profession not just for the salary pay
but also for people’s personal reasons, and understanding. After college I plan on attending a job into
the medical field. It’s always been a personal passion for me to help others, and with nursing being a
caring, and nurturing type of profession that enables a person to unlimited amount of possibilities, and
benefits, it’s a great career choice for anyone both men and woman who are dedicated to helping and
caring for the well-being and health of others.

It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school.
