INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

A calendar with a very corny image of a flower reads:

“April.”

On a couch sits RAY, 18, and BRIAN, 18. Both look

concentraded playing a video game.

SAMANTHA, 18, approaches them.

SAMANTHA
Come on, Ray, we need to go.

Ray ignores her.

SAMANTHA (CONT'D)
I’m talking.

Brian nudges him.

RAY
Oh, I’m sorry babe. What?

SAMANTHA
Why are you always ignoring me?

RAY
Can you not see I’m playing? I’m
concentrated.

Brian, looks down and touches his neck.

SAMANTHA
Fine. I’ll be in the bathroom,
crying myself out.

Samantha leaves the living room.

Ray mocks, stands and walk away from the couch.

Brian leaves behind Ray.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Ray gets a glass of water.

Brian stands next to him looking at Ray.

RAY
Man, this girl is driving me crazy.
She always has something to cry,
scream and say about.

Ray drinks the glass of water.

BRIAN
She's your girlfriend, don't talk
about her like that, you know I
won't hide it from her either.

RAY
Fine, sheesh, man. Take it easy, I
was just saying.

A uncomfortable silence breaks. Brian looks at the empty

glass.

Ray sits. Samantha walks in with her purse.

SAMANTHA
I'm going to leave now...
You left me crying. What type of
boyfriend are you?

Samantha leaves slams the door. Ray looks at Brian.

BRIAN
Are you kidding me? Go after her,
don't be such a prick.

RAY
I will go, okay? There was
something I needed to talk to you
about, that's why I'm still here.

BRIAN
Spill it then. This better be
serious too, or I will be mad.

RAY
You know when I said before that I
would love Samantha if she was...
calmer.

BRIAN
Yeah? What about it.

RAY
I was thinking about...

Ray stares into nothing.

BRIAN
Just say it bro, hurry.

RAY
I- I was thinking about dating a
male especially someone like you...
or even you.

Ray plays with his hands and coughs.

Brian narrow his eyes.

BRIAN
I don't think I'm understanding
anything of what you just said.

RAY
Brian, I think I might be gay, and
I think it's because of you.

Ray covers his face.

Brian’s eyes start to water down.

BRIAN
I don't even know what to say, this
isn't right... Sam is my friend,
your girlfriend.

RAY
Why you look so sad?

BRIAN
I think I can finally be myself
now. I just have to admit that...
I'm gay too.

Brian cries and smiles subtly.

RAY
What the hell bro? You honestly
don't know what day is today? It's
April fools.

Ray points at the calendar. It’s April 1st. Brian looks over.

Samantha enters the kitchen with her phone in her right hand.
Ray joins her laugh.

SAMANTHA
Boohoo! I'm recording by the way
bae.

BRIAN
Guys? What? What are y’all trying
to say right n- now.

Brian starts to cry in silence while looking in shock.

RAY
This is April fools dumbass, do you
think I would be gay? bruh, no. You
were joking too right?

BRIAN
(frowns)
Ray... you made me feel safe, you
made me feel comfortable enough to
do this?

Brian stands up furious and gets closer to Ray. He pushes him

to the wall.

BRIAN (CONT'D)
I’m sorry, but, why would you do
that?

Brian looks at Samantha.

BRIAN (CONT'D)
And you? That's so low from you...
I've defended you my whole life.

SAMANTHA
It was a joke, please Brian we are
sorry, we didn't know, please.

RAY
Don't apologize that much either
baby, if he wants to stay in this
stupid drama let him. Let's go.

BRIAN
This is not okay. You two play with
this and you dare to call it a
"drama"? Well, fuck you Ray.

Brian is about to leave but he looks Samantha and stops. She

is crying.

BRIAN (CONT'D)
I love you, but you... goodbye,
Samantha. I don’t feel comfortable
anymore.

Brian leaves the house. Samantha and Ray look at each other
confused. They hear the door opening.

Brian enters with a big smile.

I read all your plan texts. Happy
April Fools, dumbasses.

Brian slams the door.
