1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Standard Work Instruction is to describe the functionality of the Actuation Quality
Index/Drawings application within the Supplier Portal. This application allows suppliers to:
 Retrieve UTAS Engineering Drawings at the latest revision

 Retrieve UTAS Specifications (including previous revision letters)
Security in the Actuation Quality Index/Drawings application requires the part number that a supplier is
attempting to retrieve a drawing or spec for, must be associated with an open Purchase Order (PO) or
Scheduling Agreement (SA) to be able to view. The part number entered in the search field must be an exact
match to the part number on the purchasing document.
This application has been specifically created for Actuation Wolverhampton and France Suppliers, who
previously retrieved drawings and quality specifications from Aerovantix.
1.1. Pre-requisites
Access to SNC

3. PROCESS
3.1 Navigation Overview
Log in to the Supplier Portal https://suppliers.utc.com.
Open the Actuation Quality Index/Drawings application via quick links:
3.1.1 Access the Application
Actuation Suppliers: If you have multiple UTAS vendor codes assigned to your ID, you will see this “Pick a
Vendor Code” window:
If there is only one vendor code assigned to your ID, the above window will not display.
When you first enter the Actuation Quality Index/Drawings application, you will immediately be taken to the
Specifications search screen.
You can toggle between the Quality Index and Drawings application by clicking drawings, and back again, by
clicking Quality Index.
3.1.2 Specifications
There are multiple ways to search for a Specification
I. When you know the exact number as quoted on the drawing:
Enter the number in the Document Number field.
II. When you know the customer location e.g. WL, SO or VE

In the Location drop down, if applicable, you can select the customer location the specification is required for:
III. When you want to run an open search of all specifications

Leave all search boxes blank and this will give you a full list of specifications
3.1.3 Downloading Specifications
When you have identified the specification you want to view, click anywhere in the box to highlight the
line, then select Download. NOTE the line will turn grey when you have selected it.
After clicking Download, a popup box will appear with some Terms of Agreement. Always click Accept. If
you select Decline, you will not be able to view the specification.
After you have selected Accept, you may be asked:

Depending on your Internet Explorer settings, you should click Save and Yes to open the document.
This will generate a download of the specification for you to view and save as necessary.
The Quality Index function will also give you revisions of specifications. E.g. the below specification has 8
revisions which you are able to download and use as required. Always ensure you are selecting the
correct revision of the specification, as given on the drawing.
3.1.4 Engineering Drawings

To view an engineering drawing, you must navigate to Drawings from the Cimage Interfaces initial screen.
You will be presented with a search box. In here, you must enter the part number exactly as it appears in the
purchasing document (PO or SA) and click Search.
REMINDER: You can only view a drawing for a part with an open PO or SA
When the search has run and you are presented with the drawing you wish to view, click Download. Check
the drawing revision is correct as per the PO/SA.
To view the drawing, you must click Accept when presented with the Terms of Agreement.
The drawing will be downloaded in PDF format.
3.2 Troubleshooting issues with the Quality Specs and Engineering Drawings
App
The following will help answer some common questions regarding the Engineering Information app.
3.2.1 The drawing or specification is not available on the portal
The supplier number must have an open PO or Scheduling Agreement (SA) to view Engineering Drawings
and Specifications for a given part number. Request that the buyer:
 Check in SAP / ECC to ensure the part exists on one of the open doc types shown above, and the
PO, SA, or RFQ is valid (not expired) and is associated with the supplier number that the supplier ID
has permission to view.
 Check that the drawing or spec is available internally at UTAS in Cimage
 If an engineering document has not yet been import/export classified, the document cannot be viewed
on the UTAS Supplier Portal.
 If the drawing/specification is available on Cimage and there is an open purchasing document,
Contact UTAS Engineering Support to have the drawing or spec loaded.
3.2.2 Latest rev of drawing or spec in app does match revision on PO

The supplier can find the latest revision letters of drawing, and previous revisions up to and including the latest
one of the specifications. If the latest revision is not on the portal, the buyer should check Cimage to ensure
the latest revision is loaded. If it is not available internally in Cimage, the buyer should contact their
Engineering Department to resolve the issue and ensure the correct revision gets loaded. If the latest revision
is available on the portal but not on the PO, the buyer can update the PO with the latest revision or discuss
the reason for the disconnect with the supplier.
4. Internet Explorer (IE) Compatibility View Settings

If the Part Number search box is not displaying in the upper right corner of “Engineering Information”, and you
are using IE11, you will need to adjust your IE Compatibility View settings.
Locate the IE “Tools” menu, then “Compatibility View settings”.

Two such options are:
On the IE Menu Bar, or,
The “gear” Icon
Select “Compatibility View settings”:
You will need to review 2 items in Compatibility View:
1. If ‘utc.com’ is displaying in the “Websites….” box, highlight it and click the “Remove” button.
2. Uncheck “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View” and “Use Microsoft compatibility lists”.
Please work with your company's IT staff for further questions on IE compatibility settings.
