SEARCHING IN THE NET

Use the attached document as help to carry out the following activities:

a. Search the key words for your topic (IN ENGLISH- you need to change the language in
“Search settings”) without any logical symbols. Write down the number of results and
the different five first website’s url (discard results that refer to sites contained in the
same website). Add them to your Symbaloo webmix in red tiles and name them.

b. Search the same key words in English from the previous section but in quotation marks.
Write down the number of results and add the different five first website’s url to your
Symbaloo webmix in green tiles and name them.

c. Now, search information about your topic with advanced search symbols (+ or - or
another one). Write down the number of results and add the different five first websites
url to your Symbaloo webmix in yellow tiles and name them.

d. After that, search information about your topic “only for UK”. Write down the number of
results and add the different five first websites url to your Symbaloo webmix in pink tiles
and name them.

1. Do you think it is better to have higher or lower number of results for you research?
Why?
-I think that is better to have a higher number of result but many time the webpages are not
de correct ones

2. Is the number of results the best advanced search or do you need another criteria
too?
-I think that if you specify something you maybe are going to have a better result
because when I have putted it in quotation marks I had a concrete result
 3. Can you work out website reliability by reading the website address? How?
-I think that you can because when you read the introduction of the webpages you could
know something about the webpage is gonna to be about

4. What searching criteria are you going to use in your research job?
I´m going to use quotation marks if I don´t find the webpages that I need because
when I was looking the webpages without any simbols I found webpages similar that
the ones that I have founded with quotation marks so it could be more exactly
