OBJECTIVES

1. To provide the knowledge for students to identify and evaluate problems with existing
business operating systems and the skills they need to improve the system to help the
business sustain in the competitive and dynamic marketplace.

2. To expose the student to the real world on how operation management is been operate
from daily basis to annually basis.

3. To learn about every step that goes into making a product or service and how to make
each step as efficient and beneficial to the company as possible.

4. To study the delivery systems that serve customers and the ways to administer and
create helpful customer service

5. To review the firm’s operating systems, quality management, product design, supply
chain management, and inventory control

Academic Visit to Cerebos (Malysia) Sdn Bhd.

Company profile
Cerebos produces and markets over 50 brands to Asian Pacific region and beyond.
Cerebos offers product types that that includes a comprehensive range of canned
food, sauces, juices, beverages, desserts, toppings, condiments, cooking aids and
health supplements.

Today, their products are household names BRAND’s

We arrived at CEREBOS (M) Sdn Bhd) factory head quarter at around 2:00 pm. We
were warmly received and had a Welcoming Reception by Ms. Jennifer Chan Siew
Wei.

Ms. Jeniffer Chan Siew showed us an interesting corporate video about the
CEREBOS products, history of the company etc.
After watching the video Jenifer using Microsoft power point explained deeply on
the company’s production system, supply chain, competitors, and types of
products they manufacture. Upon finishing her presentation Jenifer opened the
floor for a question and answer session were many students asked many
questions on production, supply chain, quality control and etc.
By asking the questions many of the students understood how things are run in
manufacturing company and it was great experience to see a real manufacturing
company.

We then headed to the most anticipated event which was factory tour. We were
instructed by a young lady named Yun. She briefly explain on the very beginning
of the production process from the stage where the essence of the chicken being
cooked and extract within 10 hours to the packaging stage. After the briefing, the
student are allowed to have a look around the factory tour via the visitor’s part
and browsing the interactive touch screen game and information build in monitor.

Then, the visitors were given the opportunities to taste the product produced at
the manufacturing plant which are Brand Inner Shine & Brand Chicken Essence. In
addition, visitors who want to purchase the Brand Product using the coupon
provided can do so at the counter. After that, the entire visitor asked to enter the
conference room again for the lucky draw.

Lastly, we have a simple occasion to give some gift to Jeniffer Chan Siew as a
token of appreciation to her in giving a educative session to all of us. Left Cerebos
at 4.45 pm and safely arrive at UiTM Shah Alam around 5.15pm
