Drone Workshop
with Mr Lukas
1.0 Introduction:

In the ever-evolving landscape of education, the primary goal of Transformasi Sekolah

(TS25) is to nurture future-ready individuals who can thrive in the dynamic world of the
Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). As educators, it is our responsibility to equip young
minds with the essential skills and knowledge that will empower them to become active
participants in shaping the future. To embrace this transformative journey, we introduce a
groundbreaking initiative - a Basic Drone Workshop designed exclusively for our beloved
primary school pupils.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is a paradigm shift that blurs the lines between the
physical, digital, and biological realms, rapidly transforming the way we live, work, and
interact with technology. As the world becomes more interconnected and reliant on cutting-
edge technologies, it is imperative that our education system adapts accordingly. By
introducing primary school pupils to transformative technologies like drones, we aim to spark
their curiosity, foster critical thinking, and ignite a passion for exploring the boundless
possibilities of the future.
Through this working paper, we present a comprehensive framework for a Basic Drone
Workshop that seamlessly integrates the principles of Transformasi Sekolah (TS25) and
harnesses the potential of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The workshop will not only
serve as a platform for young minds to engage with emerging technologies but also nurture
their creativity and problem-solving abilities. We firmly believe that this initiative will be
instrumental in shaping a generation of forward-thinking individuals who can confidently
embrace the challenges and opportunities of an ever-changing world.
Join us on this transformative journey as we explore the possibilities of a Junior Basic Drone
Workshop that unlocks the potential of our primary school pupils and sets them on a path of
continuous learning and innovation.

Together, let's prepare

the leaders of
tomorrow to soar to
new heights!

2.0 Objectives:
This workshop aims to:
 Foster Technological Literacy:
- Introduce pupils to the basic concepts of drone technology and its applications in
various fields and develop their understanding of how drones can be used for problem-
solving and data collection.

 Enhance Critical Thinking Skills:

- Encourage pupils to think critically and analytically while navigating drones through
different challenges and scenarios.
- Stimulate their problem-solving abilities by designing drone-based tasks that require
creative solutions.

 Promote Collaborative Learning:

- Cultivate a collaborative learning environment where pupils work in teams to
accomplish drone-related missions and emphasize the importance of communication
and teamwork to achieve shared goals effectively.

 Inspire Interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics):

- Use drones as a tool to generate enthusiasm for STEM subjects, showcasing the
practical applications of these fields and instil a sense of curiosity and wonder in pupils,
motivating them to explore further studies in STEM-related disciplines.

 Develop 21st-century Skills:

- Equip pupils with skills such as adaptability, digital literacy, and communication,
preparing them for the demands of the 4IR.
- Introduce them to emerging technologies to broaden their perspectives on future career
opportunities.
 Build Confidence and Self-Esteem:
- Provide pupils with hands-on experiences in piloting drones, boosting their confidence
in handling technological devices.
- Celebrate their achievements throughout the workshop to foster a sense of
accomplishment and self-esteem.

 Encourage Lifelong Learning:

- Instil a growth mindset in pupils, encouraging them to view challenges as opportunities
for learning and inspire a passion for continuous learning and exploration of new
technologies beyond the workshop.

“Inspire Interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)"

The Basic Drone Workshop presents an exciting opportunity to ignite a spark of fascination
for the world of STEM among our primary school pupils. By integrating drone technology
into the workshop, we aim to captivate young minds and showcase the real-world
applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through hands-on
experiences and engaging activities, we aspire to achieve the following:
a. Practical Applications of STEM Concepts:
 Introduce pupils to the fundamental principles of aerodynamics, mechanics, and
electronics that govern drone flight.
 Illustrate how mathematical concepts, such as geometry and trigonometry, play a crucial
role in drone navigation and control.
b. Exploring STEM in Action:
 Demonstrate how drones are utilized in various industries, including agriculture,
environmental monitoring, and disaster relief.
 Highlight the transformative impact of STEM fields in solving real-world challenges
and improving lives.
c. Nurturing Curiosity and Inquiry:
 Encourage pupils to ask questions and explore the "why" and "how" behind drone
technology and its capabilities.
 Cultivate a sense of wonder and curiosity, motivating them to seek answers and delve
deeper into scientific inquiries.
d. Breaking Gender Stereotypes in STEM:
 Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages both male and female pupils
to actively participate in drone-related activities.
 Challenge traditional gender norms and promote equal opportunities for all in pursuing
STEM interests.
e. Fostering Innovation and Creativity:
 Empower pupils to think innovatively and creatively as they design and execute drone
missions and tasks.
 Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset that encourages them to explore new applications
for drone technology.
By inspiring interest in STEM through the Basic Drone Workshop, we hope to sow the seeds
of curiosity and passion that will continue to grow beyond the classroom. As these young
learners become more adept in STEM-related fields, they will be better equipped to embrace
the challenges and opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and
contribute meaningfully to shaping our technologically advanced future. Encouraging interest
in STEM at an early age can have a profound impact on a child's educational journey and
future career choices.
