Hi,

My name is Micaila Chalmers and it’s wonderful to meet you all. I am proud to be
from the city of bridges known to others as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There are 446
bridges to be exact if you were wondering. I currently work as a Pediatric Echo
Sonographer at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. In simpler terms, I do ultrasounds
of children’s hearts. After making the choice to return to school I decided to obtain a
bachelor’s degree in Health Science. Throughout my previous education I have
always been a hands–on learner. To say the least, online forums are unfamiliar
territory for me but I am eager to learn.

After reading the given material I have learned the importance of historians. When I
think of historians they remind me of an investigator. They seek answers straight
from the source and form their own opinion. I think it’s important for historians to
dig deep into primary sources and create new perspectives on various topics.
Perspective gives us a broader range for interpretation, which will eventually
develop new ideas. Even in my day-to-day life perspective is incredibly important.
As I do ultrasounds, sometimes our eyes focus solely on one thing. Periodically we
need to adjust our mentality and remember the bigger picture.
