1.) Searching for primary sources was a challenge for me merely because I never have before.

Practicing during
this scavenger hunt gave me preparation that will be put to use during my research.

2.) I was successful in location the interview with Tom Evans but it was difficult. I started with the first link to
the Truman Library Collections. The first step I took was to simply search “ Tom Evans Interview” only to find a
large list of links that got me nowhere. After a search that failed I decided to look around. Next, I selected the
Library Collections tab and proceeded to Oral Histories. Once there I selected “E” for Evans and found the
interviews. After I skimmed though I found the link https://www.trumanlibrary.gov/library/oral-
histories/evans4.

3.) Finding the petition against the use of the atomic bomb was much easier for me. I selected the third link
provided which directed me to the Atomic Heritage Foundation. Solely searching “ petition” gave me immediate
results. The link for the petition is https://www.atomicheritage.org/key-documents/szilard-petition.

4.) Initially I stayed on the Atomic Heritage Foundation website and began a search with but, no luck. Then I
found my way to the Voices of the Manhattan Project website. When their searching Lilli’s name gave me
immediate results to the appropriate link. https://www.manhattanprojectvoices.org/oral-histories/lilli-
hornigs-interview.
