Why I chose this topic: I really didnt know what topic to choose at first, so I was searching through the suggestions for something of big importance. While searching I found the Armenian Genocide, which I remembered overviewing in History class a couple of years ago. I figured that this was a major event that would be great to research.

How I conducted my research:

Through a quick Google search, I found out that my project was a major historical event, so I knew there would be lots of information at the library. I found three interesting novels that overwhelmed me with knowledge. One of which was A Shameful Act: The Armenian Genocide and the Question of Turkish Responsibility by Taner Akam. I also went online to different databases and library catalogs in order to find articles, journals, and references. I printed as many as I could on the three days that I went to the library at school with my class. The other information, I did from home on my own. The final thing I did was review all internet videos I could find on Armenia, genocide, and Turkey. I did my bibliography cards so that I could organize all of the information I got from the different sources. With all of this information, I was able to come up with my thesis statement. Once I had that I brainstormed about what topics should be focused on that related to my thesis.

How I created and developed my exhibit: I chose to create a website because I thought it would be convenient to work from anywhere. I also wanted to push my technology skills since I've never published any material on the web before. My website was finished in several steps. First, I selected a title and thesis. I put them in separate pages on the site, making sure to not confuse the two. Next I got a head start on the paragraphs, by making sure to get as deep into the information as I can. For example, I used a timeline to make sure my facts were historically accurate. I put the various paragraphs all over my web site. I also found pictures, videos, and audios that helped contribute. After, I picked out the colored themes and fiddled with the multimedia. I dazzled the site to the best of my abilities, leaving no spot untouched. Finally, after several revisions and cutting down of words and sentences, I published my website for everyone to see. Through this experience I improved my technology skills in many ways. For example I learned how to embed documents, upload and download videos, create audio files, place pictures, and form links from within my website.

How my project relates to the theme:

My project has everything to do with Rights and Responsibilities. The Armenian people's Rights were stolen; they were massacred and treated as less than human by the Turks. Even to this day, the Turks refuse to take responsibility for the Genocide. They claim that the event was largely exaggerated, and was instigated by the Armenians. How I used biblical truth in my project: I used Revelation 20:4 which says Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The Armenians were Christians and were killed by the Muslim Turks, they will forever rule in heaven.
