unit. Not paying attention to these warnings and instructions may lead to
malfunctions and failures or may seriously endanger human life and would void
any warranty.

Different type and size of blowers, not ready-to-be used as products, but designed
as components, for air conditioning, to be fitted into machinery . The fans may only
be operated when they are installed as intended, and when safety is ensured by
safety equipment according to EN 60335-1 or by other protection measures.

When unpacking, take care to lift properly the unit in order to avoid
unbalancing and lift it out very gently and carefully. Shocks have to be avoided
by all means!

2. Safety information

Please read these operating instructions before starting to work on the device.
Observe the following warning to prevent malfunctions or physical damage to
properties and/or people.

a. This unit should only be installed or opened by a qualified technician

b. This unit is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with
reduced physical, sensorial or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

c. The unit should be used, maintained or operated by adults only.

d. This unit is solely intended as a built-in component as per EN 60335-1 and

should not be operated otherwise. Sufficient protection against accidental
contact according to machinery has to be safeguarded, especially for the
rotating parts. Make sure the unit is disconnected from any electrical supply
before operating on it.

e. Fans are only intended for moving air as component of a final product.

f. Fans are only to be operated within the range specified on the motor name-
plate or in the technical specification released by Technical Dept.

g. The unit complies with the applicable standard and regulation and meets the
requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC and ECM guideline
89/336/EEC

h. The unit meets the following standards:

- EN 60529: Degree of Protection provided by enclosure ( IP code

3
)
- EN 60335-1: Safety of household and similar appliances ( see
the Declaration of conformity )

i. Secure the device against accidental contact and make sure, when the device
is disconnected from the power supply, to wait until centrifugal blower is
completely stopped before working on the machine

j. Appliance must be used in permitted ambient temperature, refer to technical

data for details

k. Sufficient protection against accidental contact according to machinery

directive has to be safeguarded, especially for the rotating parts. Should there
be a malfunction, it still has to be safeguarded that the parts breaking off or
flying away cannot cause damages or bodily harm.

l. Stand on a rubber mat if you are working on an electrically charged device

m. Wait one minute after disconnection from the supply line before opening any
electrical part of the unit

n. Do not touch the fan blade/wheel once installed

Connection and Start up

When unpacking the unit, pay attention to take the unit only from the plate.

Check the device for transport damage, in case any damage is identified, the
unit must not be installed.
The user is the sole responsible of the correct use of the unit in the final
application.

Use only cables that meet the specified installation requirements for voltage,
current, insulation material, load, etc…
Refer to the diagram below for connection details

Before connecting the device, ensure that the power supply voltage matches
the operating voltage of the device (refer to the rated data)
When fan motor is powered up, verify the correct direction of the fan
blade/wheel and make sure it cannot touch any fixed part.
When working on the fan, the operator must switch off the machine in which
the fan is installed and secure it from being switch on again.

Checking the connection.

Make sure the power is off before operating on the unit, check the correct fit
of the cables, switch on the unit and verify neither the cable nor the fan blade
are touching fixing parts.

4. Installation

a. The system manufacturer or the machine builder is responsible that the

inherent installation and security information are harmonized with the valid
standards .
b. Do not install fan on unstable basis.
c. To ensure power supply, see motor label
d. Before connecting motor speed to the power supply, check the connection
diagram on the unit
e. Secure connection cable to the power supply
f. With power supply on, check that motor is running and blowers move freely.
g. The unit is balanced with G 6,3 grade. In order to avoid unbalancing, pay
attention when fixing it into the final application.
h. During the unpacking, never lift the fan deck/blower from the fans/wheels or
the shaft, this may result in unbalancing the unit.
i. Do not make any modification, addition or conversion to the device without
prior approval from Elco, this may modify the performance in accordance to
ErP 2013/15

5. Putting into operation

Check that installation and electrically connection are properly completed, safety equipment is in place
and motor protection device is in function before connecting the product to the supply line.

Check that the fan blade/wheel can rotate freely once the unit is mounted and with the right sense of
rotation. Only if all potentially dangerous conditions are excluded, the fan can be put into operation!
Switch on the power supply and check direction of rotation and verify the smooth running.

7
6. Maintenance and service

This unit should only be opened and maintained by a qualified technician.

Before making any maintenance or repairing operation, the unit must be securely
disconnected from any power supply source and the operator must wait until the unit is
completely stopped.
