PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Project management is the application of methodologies, tools and processes to
successfully plan and execute projects. Project management intelligently makes use of
teams and resources to complete project activities within the boundaries of time, cost and
scope.

Scope Management Defining the work needed to complete the

project
Task Management Planning tasks and defining their
deliverables
Resource Management Using people, capital, materials and all
other resources efficiently
Team Management Assembling and leading a team

Schedule Management Consists in analysing the duration of

activities to create a project schedule. Once
the execution phase begins, the project
status must be monitored to update the
schedule baseline
Quality Management Establishing a quality policy for the
project’s deliverables and implementing
quality assurance and quality control
procedures
Cost Management Estimating costs and creating a budget

Stakeholder Management Satisfying stakeholders expectations and

communicating with them throughout the
project life cycle
Risk management Identifying, monitoring and minimizing
project risk
Status Reporting Monitoring and tracking progress and
performance by generating reports and
other documentation

• Phase 5: Project Closure
Project Title: A380 TYRES SUPPLYING PROJECT
Project Scope: A380 (22 tyres) deliver at DXB Airport
Timeline: 10 days
Cost: $5000 each tyre (weight per tyre 120 KG)

Each tyre is changed after approximately 180 landings and engineering team can change
one tyre in an hour. The tyres are inflated with nitrogen – not air like your typical car. This
is because nitrogen can withstand extreme temperatures and won’t combust due to the
intense friction which occurs during landing.

Aircraft tires work under extreme conditions, carrying up to 340 tons and accelerating at
over 250km/hour at take-off, in addition to enduring varied environmental stress when in
flight and taxiing.
