Fashion industry, multibillion-dollar global enterprise devoted to the business of making

and selling clothes. The fashion industry is a product of the modern age. Prior to the mid-19th
century, virtually all clothing was handmade for individuals, either as home production or on
order from dressmakers and tailors. By the beginning of the 20th century—with the rise of new
technologies clothing had increasingly come to be mass-produced in standard sizes and sold at
fixed prices. Although the fashion industry developed first in Europe and America, today it is an
international and highly globalized industry. The fashion industry has long been one of the
largest employers in the United States, and it remains so in the 21st century. However,
employment declined considerably as production increasingly moved overseas, especially to
China. However, by any measure, the industry inarguably accounts for a significant share of
world economic output.
Historically, very few fashion designers have become famous “name” designers, such as Coco
Chanel or Calvin Klein, who create prestigious high-fashion collections, whether couture or prêt-
á-porter (“ready-to-wear”). These designers are influential in setting trends in fashion, but,
contrary to popular belief, they do not dictate new styles; rather, they endeavour to design
clothes that will meet consumer demand. The vast majority of designers work in anonymity for
manufacturers, as part of design teams, adapting trendsetting styles into marketable garments for
average.consumers.
Sometimes the broader term “fashion industries” is used to refer to myriad industries and
services that employ millions of people internationally. However, the fashion industry
encompasses the design, visual art, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, retailing, advertising,
and promotion of all types of apparel.
The visual arts are art forms such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics,
photography, video, filmmaking, design, crafts and architecture.
The turn of the 20th century was a time rife with change, chiefly in the way in which people
began to perceive civilization as a whole and its overall goal. The outbreak of World War I led to
a great deal of experimentation and exploration by artists with morality and in defining what
exactly Art should be and do for a culture. What followed from this was a litany of artistic
movements that strived to find their places in an ever-changing world, such as, Suprematism,
Constructivism, Futurism, Cubism, Post-Impressionism, Surrealism and others.
The last direction is close to me.
As one of the most famous art movements of the Modernist era, thanks mainly to the indelible
work The Persistence of Memory (1931) by Salvador Dalí. For me Surrealism has come to be
remembered for its production of visceral, eye-grabbing and aesthetic images.
Not everyone knows the difference between haute couture and prêt-aporter.
Equated essentially, couture is French for dressmaking, while haute indicates high. These are
garments produced as one off pieces for a certain customer. 19th century Englishman Charles
Frederick Worth is considered as the father of Haute Couture and also today members are
selected by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture(a Parisian organization that unites
Fashion houses that create Haute Couture collections. ... Only Parisian Fashion Houses can be
members of the Syndicate. Foreign companies and designers are considered Corresponding
Members of the organization.). Prêt-à-Porter is excellent quality, manufacturing facility made
fashion. While Prêt-à-Porter is not always standardized, it is available to a wide range of
customers. These collections are produced lots of customers in various sizes. Haute Couture
brands, such as Chanel as well as Dior, often present a Prêt-à-Porter line. These collections exist
during style week
