II. PERFORMANCE
1. At first glance, I thought the artwork is just a random combination of
different patterns because it doesn't look like anything. It’s hard to know
instantly know what the artwork is all about for it contains
unrecognizable objects, patterns, and forms so there is nothing to grasp
or hold onto.

2. However, as I let my eyes wander over the artwork much longer, I

began to notice a lot of things. Following the twirls, twists and turns,
dipping in and out of the surface, I let my eyes dance around the piece.
Only then I began to understand the connection between the lines,
colors, forms, shapes, and how they interact with each other. Thus, the
artwork is able to grab my attention and pull an emotional response
from within me. It’s like this is the artist’s plan, to keep my mind
thinking, and my eyes moving through the painting.

Sometimes art can seem inaccessible or difficult to understand.

The truth is, abstract art is not "about nothing". At its basis, it is about
form, color, line, texture, pattern, composition and process

Let your eyes wander over the painting the way the notes of a symphony
wash over your soul. Let your eyes play with the painting, slipping
around corners, following the twirls, twists and turns, dipping in and out
of the surface. Let your eyes dance around the piece.

Let your eyes relax and travel around the piece without expectation.
Examine the colors, forms, materials, surface, and how they interact
with each other. Take your time. Let the painting "speak" to you.

Notice how the various elements like shape, color and form affect you.
An intricately detailed, vibrant painting will affect you differently than a
calm, cool Malevich. A strong piece of art is able to grab your attention
and pull an emotional response from within you. This is the artist’s plan
to keep your mind thinking, and analyzing and your eyes moving through
the painting.
