The document discusses two methods a college could use to help students find suitable accommodation. First, the college could allocate part of its budget to decreasing the size of rent for its halls of residence, which would attract more students in financial need and benefit those already paying high costs to study and live there. Second, the college could allow students to use their accommodation throughout the whole year instead of just during semesters, since some students do not have anywhere else to stay during summer holidays or do not want to return home. Of the two methods, lowering rental prices would likely have the most immediate and lasting positive impact on students' lives.

Methods the college should use to help students find suitable accommodation
Unfortunately, it has become increasingly common to witness college students
not being able to find accommodation that meets their needs. Most of the available options are either prohibitively expensive or their use is restricted to a specific period of time. There is a number of practical steps that the college can take to tackle this problem but the following two will probably be the most effective. By virtue of the constantly rising education fees and the costly way of life in our city, a multitude of students struggle to find appropriate accommodation. Therefore, one possible approach that the college can take to grapple with this issue is to allocate part of its budget to decreasing the size of the rent of its halls of residence. In this way, not only will the college attract more students who are in a financial predicament, but it would also benefit the ones that already pay a great deal to study and reside here. During a recent gathering of the student body, tremendous disapproval was expressed regarding the fact that the halls of residence in the college are only accessible to students during the two semesters. However, it comes as no surprise that some students either do not have anywhere else to stay during the summer holidays or they are not willing to return to their home country. It is consequently advisable that the college gives the students the chance to use their accommodation throughout the whole year. Although both of the suggested methods would prove beneficial, the one which would conceivably have an immediate and lasting impact on the quality of the students’ lives is lowering the prices of the rent.
