Problem Description

Crushed rock is loaded onto a truck from a large storage silo.

The operator must be able to control the flow of the rock by
opening and closing the doors on the loading chute. It must be
possible to stop and hold doors in any position.

Hydraulics Activity 2

Problem Description

A cylinder must fully extend a platform to a loading area. Heavy

engine blocks are to be unloaded at two positions below the
loading platform. To achieve positive control of the cylinder, the
intermediate positions must be hydraulically held.
