Company Summary
The material in this section is an introduction to the firm.

A. Company Background
DGSJ T-shirts is a service type of business where it offers freedom to customers in terms
of the color of the shirt and the kind of design to be placed in it. The founders of this business are
Danna Bayaban, Shiela Operio, Jayne Pitallar and Guen Sibala who are students of the Antipolo
City Senior High School under the strand of Accountancy, Business and Management. The
important milestones in the development of the business are having the chance to create the
group and finally have the idea on the kind of business that is certainly suitable with the desires
and capabilities of the founders.

B. Resources, Facilities and Equipment

We produce our service using plain colored t-shirts which is depending on the
preferences of the customers. The land on which we will have our main shop is in the Operio’s
residence where our equipment was which includes silkscreen, squeegee, paint, board, dryer and
print pattern. Since the founders of the business are students, the financial resources would be
our parents because we do not have our own money yet. All the other materials needed will be
provided by us through money contribution to distribute evenly all the expenses that will be
incurred. The resource providers will be given, as much as we can, a token or a simple act of
gratitude to show our appreciation of all the things they have done for us.

C. Marketing Methods
We work with other people, especially with our suppliers and customers, in a kind and
friendly way. We will approach them in the nicest way as possible to create a good relationship
that will also lead to the progress and growth of our business. Since we are just a newbie in this
kind of field, our initial capital will cost Php2,000 which is just enough to run this small venture
while the expected revenue that we will get is Php5,800. The t-shirts that will be produced will
range from Php150-200 depending on the design asked by the customers.

D. Management and Organization

The management team is Danna Bayaban, Shiela Operio, Jayne Pitallar and Guen Sibala
wherein tasks were divided among the four based on their skills and capabilities. This venture is
structured as a partnership wherein all the members are owners who have equal rights upon the
firm. The educational background of the management team members is that they all study under
the strand of Accountancy, Business and Management taking all accounting and business-related
subjects. The team has a good social reputation in the school wherein all do not have a record of
being involved in any kinds of trouble. The special skills the team has are designing, lettering,
socializing and problem solving. Oral communication is needed to be developed in order to build
a strong relationship with customers. The key people would be the four of us with our parents in
which we also go to for advice and support. As the business continues to operate, the chance of
employee development is high towards a more productive and efficient working hours. There are
no lines of authority because the business is an informal organization.
E. Ownership Structure
The primary stakeholders are Danna Bayaban, Shiela Operio, Jayne Pitallar and Guen
Sibala who are also the partners within the partnership-structured business. Considering that we
will operate only for a week, special permits or record for inspections are not needed.

F. Social Responsibility
We will follow the 5Rs of waste management which are the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,
Recover and Replace to ensure the cleanliness of the workplace area. As owners of the business,
we will be accountable for our own actions and we will never leave our environmental
responsibility which is to always take care of it and ensure that the activities that will be done
will not destroy it. We need not to be involved in any kinds of commodity organization to fulfill
our roles, instead, we only have to directly act upon it. Since this business offers service, we will
not use any hazardous materials that will put our health and safety to risk.

G. Internal Analysis
The strengths of our firm are it only requires a low capital to get started, certainly
accepted by the market and gives freedom to consumers in order to hear their voices for the t-
shirts they want to buy, The weaknesses include being a newbie in this field, inexperienced in
running an actual business firm and time constraints due to the conflicting schedules of the
owners. The core competencies would be offering customers a chance to speak out about their
desires and preferences as well as being open to help consumers to have confidence within them
through the t-shirts they will get that will reflect who they are as a person. The things that we can
build on are good customer relationships and strong business foundation which can be continued
in the future if it has a potential to achieve success. These are based on our own knowledge,
financial position, productivity, family, lifestyle, location and resources. This business will
progress and grow if the management team itself has the capability, dedication and passion to
continue this kind of activity up until it reaches its end.
Products and/or Services
Our service is t-shirt printing that is customized, means, the customers are the one who
will draw the design they want. It is very affordable and they don’t have to bring their t-shirts.
We are the one who will provide it. This is unique because we are the one who will provide the t-
shirts and they are the one who will draw or make the design they want for their t-shirts.
In quality, we will find a t-shirt that is in high quality but in low price. Unlike in the other
businesses, you are the one who will provide your own shirt. The price is affordable so that every
target market will be able to buy it and we will put up this business near to our target market like
schools where there’s a lot of graduating students who wants to have batch shirts. We do not
have any knowledge in making customized or printed t-shirts that’s why its very challenging to
us.
Market Assessment

DGSJ T-shirts will focus on the wants and needs of the millennials. The fashionable,
durable, and affordable t-shirts which makes the millennials feel comfortable and happy with
what they have. It will make the product more familiar to the customer. The opportunity that our
service will face is improving the business’ reputation since we are new in the market. The threat
is the competitors in the market.
The Five Forces model suggest about our industry:
 Supplier power – high number of supplier (Divisoria)
 Buyer power – high number of buyer
 Number of competitors – high number of competitors (Comtek and other
businesses in CMA with t-shirt printing.)
 Possibility of substitution – the t-shirts with prints that we see in the clothing store
in CMA are the possible substitutes.
 Possibility of new entrants – industry growth
Graphical t-shirts and calligraphical t-shirts are the trends related to our business.

B. Customer Analysis
Our target market is the millennials both male and female. DGSJ T-shirts will focus on

because we are the one who will provide it and in an affordable price. It is not that difficult
because we know that we can do our best to give the satisfaction to our beloved customers.

businesses known for t-shirt printing.

they are the one who loves batch shirts.

done according to the designs they want and preferred. Since it will be personalized, this
would bring more appreciation to the product. They can love it even more because it will
show your own expression or ideas. However, it has lower price compared to the modern
tshirt printing. Enterprise Expansion will be used to develop the business unit. As the
business grow, we will be expanding it by putting another branch to other areas of Antipolo
City. DGSJ Tshirt Printing will focus on the development of the product in the month of
February up to March of the current year.

B. Resource Needs
In order to effectively organize your business you need to insure the resources are
available. Assess those needs here.

a) Human
Since we will be directly contacted to the customers, employees should have first
the communication skills to form a good relationship to the customers. Also,
employees should have the skills in screen printing. And whenever there will be some
deadlines, employees should be able to maximize their time and productivity level. In
acquiring such employees, they should communicate and meet with us to have a face
to face interview.
b) Financial

necessary things, it will be enough.

depend on the customers.

Divisoria specifically with one consistent supplier.

will be samples of shirt that will serve as a guide. Aside from tshirt printing alone, there will
be also discount if it exceeds in 50 pcs. this will be located at Antipolo City senior High
School as it is part of the curriculum. In some cases, open market will be available however,
contracts will be more convenient from the both sides. The price of the product will be
depend on the cost of materials put in making the tshirts.
E. Performance Standards
The income statement will be used in monitoring this enterprise or business
performances. When the business will yield high income for the month or year, there will be
an acceptable performance standard. And based from the conducted analysis, our business
will yield a positive performance. Manager or the owner should be the one who will monitor
the performance.
Financial Plan
A. Financial Projections

The business will be funded through short-term sources of funds. Suppliers of raw
materials could be an ideal source of short-term working capital. If a good relationship was
nurtured with the suppliers, credit terms could be negotiated and honored. The business desires
to manage and pay its debt efficiently. It is ideal for the business to have more stockholders’
equity and less liabilities. To attain this objective, the debt to equity ratio of the company must
be less than 1.
Capital debt funds will be provided by lenders and equity owners of the business. If the
business has enough assets to pay for its liabilities, then perhaps capital should be raised by
inviting investors to invest in the business. Financial risks will be managed by first focusing on
the obligations of the business to the creditors. Liabilities must be paid first to lessen the risk of
dissolution. The business will ensure that the financial statements will be produced accurately
especially the Statement of Financial Position to assure that the business assets will be adequate
to pay financial obligations.
We will carefully monitor the owner’s equity, asset, and liabilities to keep track on the
overall performance of the business. To monitor the overall performance of the business, the
business’ financial statements will be analyzed. We will use profitability ratios, liquidity ratios,
leverage ratios and efficiency ratio to measure the profitability of the business and its ability to
meet financial obligations. The business aims for a positive and improving performance. The
business will target a constant increase in the net income. For the next years, the business will
aim for an increase in the assets and equity.

B. Contingency Plan

The management will form an alternative plan that the company will follow. If plan A
does not work, plan B, C, and D will be prepared to work on. If an emergency occurs in the
business, the management will take an immediate action to address the problem. A small
business can be protected by identifying the risks relevant to their location, both natural and
man-made. Then, keep a plan of action updated. It is important to consider how the management
will cope up if something happens to one of the key members of the management team. If such
cases occur, the tasks left to the missing member should be delegated to responsible members of
the management team.
