Teenagers DO help at home!
Tell us about the jobs you do at home to help.
I have to do a few jobs! When I was younger I didn’t have to do much. I had to make my bed and tidy
my bedroom. Sometimes I had to help my mum and dad lay the table. Now I have to do a LOT more!
I have to empty the dishwasher and do the vacuuming. It’s very boring – but I want to help my mum
because she does all the cooking!
Daisy, 15, Quebec, Canada.
It isn’t true that teenagers are lazy. My school days are really busy. I get up at 6.30 a.m. and make my
bed. I have to lay the table for breakfast. Luckily I don’t have to make breakfast – my mum does that.
My sister usually makes the coffee. I have to do the washing-up. Then my sister and I have to make
sandwiches for lunch. When I get to school, I feel tired!
Joel, 16, Manchester, UK
I do lots of jobs at home because my mum is in a wheelchair. I like helping her but sometimes I get
very tired. I have to make my bed, do the vacuuming and empty the dishwasher. Luckily my older
brother does lots of jobs, too. He usually has to take the rubbish out and do the shopping. We both
have to clean and iron. My brother says it’s relaxing!

Dear Doctor Grey,
The group from London had a great time at the camp but there were a few problems and accidents!
Here are some tips and some things you will need for your First Aid bag when you visit.
 The weather was so hot that some students got sunburn. All students should wear hats outside and
bring sun cream.
 The ground is so rocky here that four students had accidents at night. Please ask your students to
bring some torches.
 There were so many bees in the camp gardens that five students were stung. You should bring a
few extra tweezers and extra painkillers.
 It was so hot in the bedrooms that two students fainted before going to bed. They should keep the
windows open at night if possible.
