Site supervision is defined as site supervisor who is responsibility to monitor construction

related works in construction site and the progress of construction projects to ensure that all
safety standards are followed. They are in charge of supervising construction workers and
subcontractors, as well as educating them on site safety procedures and evaluating worker
results. They also responsibility to order building supplies, scheduling equipment
maintenance as needed, perform first aid in emengencies and training new construction
workers.

Next, site supervisor must be able to read building plans and coordinate the works of the
construction project. They must be a problem solver, advance with experience in construction
industry and high knowledge in every construction related. They are skill in communication
and interaction with any contractual connection and easy to work with.

The importance of site supervision is to ensure the quality of materials and workmanship.
The study concluded that optimal supervision is needed in areas such as materials grades,
trademarks, dimension tolerance, batching date, mix-design, storage, material preparation for
use, systems and procedures of mixing materials before use in order to ensure quality
workmanship and waste reduction. The quality of materials has a direct impact on the overall
quality and grade of the building, as well as structural safety, exterior appearance and use of
function after completion. Therefore, protecting material quality are highly essential aspect to
the construction work.

In addition, poor workmanship may lead to construction defects such as corrosion, molding,
leaking and cracks in foundation, beam and column. There are also cause injuries and death to
some cases. That is why site supervisor need to ensure the quality of workmanship to avoid
any of undesirable things happen. Low quality is often related to poor health and safety. It is
not usual for poor quality to cause a safety incident. A safety incident would most likely be
believed for example if a cladding panel was not properly secured and fell from a building,
injuring others below. The safety incident, on the other hand, is the result of a workmanship
quality issue. Therefore, the aim of the report is to study about supervising quality of
materials that arrived and the quality of workmanship that practiced on site.
