1. Identify the people in the pictures. Then choose one and discuss using the following guide questions: When do we talk to a …?
What do we talk about with a….? How do we speak when we talk to….? Show how it is done!

2. Repeat with other pictures emphasizing choices that are made according to topics that may be discussed or the purpose of the
speaking.
TASK CARD 2 : Sound Story (G8)
A sound story tells a story using sound effects either in part or full.
The group shall choose and discuss a common short story for everyone in
the group. If there is no common story, any member of the group may
volunteer to tell a story for the group. The group will proceed to agree
on the sounds that they are going to incorporate, add and use as they tell
the story.

Present your output to the big group.

Today’s News Report : My News

1. Let pupils talk about things that happened today as they were going to school on the
road, getting in the classroom, while preparing for class (anything that they feel worth
sharing; see to it that each member of the group gets a chance to talk).
2. Have the pupils create and present at least one (1) news report based on the sharing
done earlier. Be sure that the report will provide answers to the wh- questions (who,
what, where, when, why)
3. Let the group decide how they are going to present the news report to the big group.

Text Innovation
Think of a poem, a nursery rhyme or a song. As a group, change the words of the
poem, nursery rhyme or song. See to it that when the words are changed, the
meaning of the text remains the same as the original.

Example:
Nursery Rhyme

Jack and Jill went up the hill. John and Mary climbed up the
mountain.
To fetch a pail of water. To fill a bucket of H2O
Jack fell down and broke his Jack slipped down and bruised
crown. his crown.
And Jill came tumbling after. And Mary came rolling after.
