 3.2.4.B5 Demonstrate how vibrating objects make sound and sound can make things
vibrate.

III. LESSON OBJECTIVES


The students will be able to create flashcards with the definition of their vocabulary words.
The students will be able to read the section on sound and be able to comprehend what
they read.

V. A. INTRODUCTION
To begin the lesson today, I will ask the students “Does anyone know anything about sound?”
Allow each student to answer.
I will then tell the students “Today we are going to learn about another form of energy which is
sound.”
B. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
To continue the lesson, I will tell the students “Today we are going to do stations to
learn about sound. We are going to have three different stations and you’ll spend about
9 minutes in each station today then about 15 minutes in those stations tomorrow. In
the first station you will be writing your definitions to your 8 vocabulary words on
flashcards. In the second station you are going to be working with me as we read
through the section on sound. Then, in the last station, you are going to watch some
different videos that will help explain this content to you. While you watch these videos,
I would like you to write down a fact from each video you watch. The groups are.”

Pass out notecards to each person.
Say “The first group, you guys can get your books our at open to page 540 and start writing your
definitions on the notecards I gave you. Then group two you can hang tight and I will read
through the section with you. And group three, you can pull out your chrome books and watch
each of the videos that Mr. Mills sent you.”

Learning Environment: When the students are working in their stations, they will be
given the chance to work wherever they are comfortable.
D. CLOSURE
This lesson will be closed by sending the students back to their seats and asking them “what is
one thing you learned today?”
Give 3 students the chance to answer this question.

VI. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
The students will be informally assessed when they turn in their notecards. They will be
assessed on if each vocabulary word is written with the correct definitions.
The students will also be formally assessed on Wednesday when they are given a quiz on this
information. They will be assessed on what sound is and how we are able to hear it. -I expect
the students to achieve a 92%.

VII. MODIFICATIONS AND/OR ACCOMMODATIONS (I TEACH THIS FOR TWO CLASSES. ONE AT 1-1:45 AND
1:45-2:30)
For 1-1:45 I will accommodate for my students who are in emotional support, by providing
them with bigger notecards to write their definitions on.

For 1:45-2:30 I will accommodate for my struggling students by providing them with bigger
notecards to write their definitions on.
