Meet Officer Jacqueline White
I have always wanted to be a
Police Officer ever since I was a
small child. I was always told that
“girls are not police officers” by
my mother. I never had much
support, when I was younger, with
my dream to become a police
officer. After having three children
in my twenties, I became a beauty
consultant and worked in a
corporate office for several years
making a decent pay. I was
never really happy doing what
everyone else wanted me to do
so at the age of thirty-five, I quit
my great paying job and enrolled
in the Delaware County Police
Academy. As you can imagine
this did not go over very well with
my family or husband. My kids
were upset and my mother did not
speak to me for a period of time
due to the fear of the unknown.
I graduated from the Police
Academy at DCCC in December
2011 in good standing. I was
blessed with several job offers
and opportunities. Needless to
say, my family is proud of my
accomplishments and persistence
to follow my dream of becoming a
police officer. I have three
beautiful children, and they, along
with my mother and husband are
very proud of all that I have
accomplished and the way I have
been able to rise above
challenges.
