Lesson Reflection 7

The lesson was about reading a story and ask questions related to the story. The lesson was for
grade 1 in Al Ataa school. The lesson was taught in Microsoft teams in second period. I try to
achieve that the students understand the story and they can be able to answer the questions about
the story. Also, to write simple sentences. The students listen to the story then they answer the
questions about the story, read the new words, answer the question about who are the characters
by seeing the pictures to remember, Answer the question about where dose the story take place?
Answer the question of how is it different to where you live? By seeing the pictures then write a
sentence about the picture. At the end, they complete the differentiated activities.

I think the students responded the way that they did because this is the first time they listen to
this story so they need time to understand the story events but at the end they understand it and
they answer the questions about the story. The teaching relates to the students prior
understanding that they are familiar of how to be kind with their friend. I engaged the students by
let them join the Nearpod link, then for the exit ticket I let them answer the differentiated
activities by writing there answer in padlet under there group color.

It was a good experience for the students that I taught them story instead of normal lesson with
the activities from the book. They war exited for the story and they want to answer the questions.
The lesson meets my teaching goal that at the end of the lesson the students war able to write
simple sentences.

I will enhance student learning of this lesson in the future by build schema and vocabulary
meaning prior to story reading. Utilize appropriate questioning strategies to determine cognitive
thinking progress of students. Utilize student choice in activities. Model the student activity for
students to ensure their understanding and that clear expectations are provided. Close the lesson
by restating the learning outcome before dismissing the students. The implications for my
professional practice is to have an experience of teaching and learn new strategies to implement
it in the future.
