Concept of HRM

At the present world, the reasons of organizational success are the activities of efficient manpower and that is
the reason, more emphasize has been given for human resource management. Therefore, human resource
management involves all the activities necessary for manpower management.
Decenzo and Robbins- “Human resource management is comprised of the staffing, development, motivation and maintenance
functions”.
Ricky W. Griffin- “Human resource management is the set of organizational activities directed at attracting, developing and
maintaining an effective workforce.
Ivancevich, Donnelly and Gibson- “Human resource management is the process of accomplishing organizational objectives by
acquiring, retaining, terminating, developing, and properly using the human resources in an organization”.
Barry Cushway- “Human resource management can be defined as a range of strategies, process and activities designed to
support corporate objectives by integrating the needs of the organization and the individuals that comprise it”.
Human resource involves all the people from top level to subordinate levels working in the organization. It
also represents to skill, attitude, knowledge and performance of employees.
