2 Objective of the proposal

The aim of the proposal is to develop a road safety model to ensure the reduction of
road accident with cost analysis per person/total population in a particular hot spot (High
accident prone zone). The road safety model to ensure reducing the road accident in a
particular area and also give the clear estimation of how much cost to spent per individual
person to avoid the road accident in future in a hot spot.
Challenges: Tamil Nadu have good road infra structure but accident numbers also high so
prediction is a challenging process to identify the reasons of road accident.

3 Background/short description

1. What problem are you trying to solve?

To reduce the accident rate, death rate and economic losses due to road accidents.
2. Is the solution already available?
Some research papers give the valid recommendations to reduce the accidents
and some research papers give the cost analysis data (due to death, major and minor
injury) but no perfect model is not available for our local condition.

4 Expected results
What will come out of the project?
At the end of the research i try to develop a Road safety model it gives the
(i) Reasons for road accident and fatality (To proper implementations of
recommendation how to over come it)
(ii) The model gives the estimation of how much cost need to extra investment at
planning, design, construction and maintenance stage per person in total population.

So Accident numbers and fatality rate reducing in future.
