LAS EXPRESIONES
USED TO= solía +infinitive (a past habit) i.e I used to swim in summer.
BE USED TO= estar acostumbrado a+ing i.e I am used to living here
GET USED TO= acostumbarse a+ing
BE SORRY FOR (gerund) apologize, regret. i.e I’m sorry for making such noise last night
BE SORRY (to infinitive) regret sadness. i.e I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been ill.
BE ASHAMED OF (gerund) = it refers to a previous action. i.e You should be ashamed of lying to him
BE ASHAMED (to infinitive)= it refers to a subsequent action. i.e I’m ashamed to tell you what it costs.
I saw him doing something= he was doing something (past continuous) and I
saw this. I saw him when he was in the middle of doing it. This does not mean
that I saw the complete action.
Eg. He was walking along the street= I saw him walking along the street
Yesterday you saw Kate. She was waiting for the bus. You can say: I saw Kate
waiting for a bus
