I am Muhtadir Al Munif from Noman Group of Industries Bangladesh. I am working
as the Coordinator of the Honorable Deputy Managing Director of Noman Group and this
is my eighth week of service. I have started to receive in depth industrial training for
these week. For the following few weeks, I will be visiting and staying different sister
concerns of Noman Group to have some basic communicable knowledges regarding the
machines being used and production procedure. I am also here to Coordinate my
reporting boss who and convey reliable and important information directly to him.

1. Works Done:

This week, I went and stayed to one of the newly innovated sister concern of
Noman Group which is just started its production and named ‘Zaber & Zubair Accessories
Limited – TWO’. This branch is the expansion of the actual Zaber & Zubair Accessories
Limited which is situated at Pagar, Tongi, Gazipur. As the business and demand of
Accessories for Noman Group is expanding day by day, the company needed more space
to ensure desired number of production volume and speed according to client demand.
Zaber & Zubair Accessories Limited unit one was at first established to supply textiles
and fabrics accessories to the sister concerns of Noman Group only. The decision of
establishing this venture was an implementation event of the in-house production, and
cost leadership polices of our honorable chairman and board of directors. This
organization at first started to supply packaging materials such as Cartons, Recyclable
Poly-packs, Labels, Stickers, Tags etc. Eventually this organization started to produce
Paper Materials by itself. Now the days have been changed and Noman Group is receiving
all the necessary supplies regarding stationary items, cutting & pasting materials,
packaging materials from this organization. The quality of accessories supplied by Zaber
and Zubair Accessories Limited has already received positive feedbacks and preferences
from the international buyers of fabrics and textiles materials. In this way, this
organization started receiving external orders for accessories from many national and
international renowned organizations. That is why the top management came up with
the decision of expansion for accessories manufacturing. As a new employee of the
organization, the top management of Noman Group has selected this new accessory
factory as my first place to learn industrial operations as this is the least complicated
process. The production procedures of accessories demand less expertise to be
understood and is the best thing to be acquainted with real life industrial production,

maintenance and management. I have stayed the whole week in the factory for 24 hours
to be usual with the factory life pattern. I have received trainings on different types of
accessories being produced, basic knowledges about machineries being utilized, the
input and output procedure, supply chain management, procurement & purchase,
maintenance, safety and security requirements etc.

2. Learnings & Achievements:

If I consider the term ‘Technical Knowledges & Experiences’ I must consider this
eighth week of my service life as the most momentous one till now. This is the first time
when as a business student, I got the opportunity to closely oversee the industrial
operations. My most remarkable achievement is, today I can describe how the production
of accessories are done inside Noman Group. I can name the different type of machines
to prepare packaging cartons, Printed paper packs, recyclable poly-packs, different kind
of papers, different types of sizing blades, different types of yarn rolls, different types of
cards etc. From these visiting week, I have got clear understandings about basic
competencies of machines, different vendors of raw materials for production, different
brands of a specific machine etc. I came to know about the common problems and
precautions. I also got the opportunity to see some real-life maintenance, troubleshooting
and most importantly management of the factory’s supply chain for raw materials, spare
parts etc.

3. Observation:

If I want to describe my observations on factory life then I must say, Zaber & Zubair
Accessories limited is Full of Life twenty-four – seven. There are three shifts of workers
for 8 hours each. The factory runs 7 days a week for 24 hours each day. There is no
stoppage of production unless or until there is no serious/critical technical error. The
workers get their fair share of vacations and work hours thorough this shifting process.
There are huge facilities for the workers and employees which includes residential
facilities, health care facilities, dining & transportation. There is less bureaucratic politics.

4. Notable Incidents:

During my factory stay, I found three of our honorable directors paying surprise
visits to see what is going on. I have witnessed our directors walking through the floor on
midnights which is an inspiring experience to be more serious in works.
