Journal 4:Ethical Belief Statement

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach him to learn by creating
curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.“ Clay P. Bedford

Education is crucial to developing a human being. When one supports the cultivation of one true
potential with the right amount of nurturing, the student would be optimistic, determined, and
grow like a flower. I believe in the educational field; leaders don't have to be born. Still, if they
have the right tools and some skill set, there are unlimited possibilities for those who have
tenacity. I believe that you must have five core values to be effective regardless of your career
choice.

The core values are integrity, advocacy, responsibility, optimism, and determination. My core
values drive me, and they are my foundational tools for any goals that I have achieved. I have
experienced situations that have tested my ethical beliefs and values, but I have made
decisions without regret because I stand by my core values. By understanding my ethics code, I
can proudly make decisions, sometimes difficult ones, which align with my beliefs.

I believe in motivating and encouraging others to consider what would seem impossible. The
children that I am impacting need to learn how to dream again. I am grateful that I live with
purpose, and my desire to fulfill that purpose motivates me daily. I am filled with gratitude when I
think of their potential and the role; I played to help cultivate their development.

As an educator, I recognize the importance of making a conscientious effort to provide an

environment that will support all students' development. By leading by example, showing
genuine respect for them, compassion about their situations, encouraging them to walk in their
truth, and show them fairness, students and colleagues and the community will know my
dedication to the educational community. As an educator, I embrace the theory of teaching one
to reach one. The famous quote by Mark Victor Hansen says, "Each one, reach one. Each one,
teach one. Until all are taught." I believe that I am helping create a new generation of leaders
and influential advocates in the community.

To fulfill my mission as a successful educator, I am committed to following my ethical beliefs in

the following ways:

1). Encouraging students to have optimism and stay focus, and never be afraid to make
mistakes. Mistakes are learning curves that everyone should embrace. Stand firm on the belief
that everyone is unique, and we should respect each other differences. Embrace challenges
because they are teaching tools.
2). Leading with integrity and showing responsibility. It helps cultivate the school culture while
maintaining a safe, educational learning environment that nurtures students and develops staff
professionally.

3). Determination to handle each situation with honesty and fairness. Being fair within the
educational setting promotes and builds strong relationships with the school and community by
providing fair assessments.

4). Being a strong advocate for the students by building an influential culture within the
education field promotes family relationships while building solid relationships that help cultivate
a safe learning environment that fosters opportunities for relationships to develop and flourish.

5). Living by my core values and ethical beliefs is my commitment to the education field. In my
personal and professional lives, I strive to show my dedication to people and my commitment to
achieving goals.
