Credo

I learned a long time ago the wisest thing I can do is be on my own side, be an advocate
for myself and others like me.”- Maya Angelou.

Advocacy- Being an advocate means finding ways when others say it is

impossible- we think about the possibilities. We are responsible for
ensuring our students are treated equally and fairly regardless of their
age, gender, religious beliefs, socioeconomic status, race, and disability
without prejudice. We are committed to student achievement, quality of
education, and clean and safe buildings, but we must begin to add a lesson
or two on ways to effectively self-advocate. Our goal is to be leaders that
the students trust when their voice is silent; as educators, we turn up the
volume.

Relationships- Establishing strong solid positive relationships is crucial

to a healthy working environment. Treat people with respect and take the
time to get to know them. Meet at least one new person a day. The people
you meet have a purpose in your life, whether for a moment, day, season,
or a lifetime. Relationships are strengthened when one can be oneself free
from judgment and any guilt—having the ability to respectfully share
your thoughts and feelings at the right moment in time is the key.
Establishing positive relationships will strengthen you as a person
personally and professionally.

Time- I believe that we make time for people or things that are important
to us. Take time to take care of yourself. We can give so much and lose
sight of making sure you are ok. We have to take the time out to give back
to our students. They are our future. Giving back to the students could be
displayed in different ways but remember to take the time to share your
knowledge and wisdom because they are counting on your guidance to
lead them.
