    each tooth surface and its width is ap-
    propriate.

    Move the drive pinion closer to the ring
    gear by decreasing the drive pinion ad-
    justing shim thickness. Then move the
    ring gear away from the pinion t o adjust
    the backlash.

    Heel Contact

    (4) Toe contact


    Move the pinion away from the ring
    gear by increasing the drive pinion ad-
    justing shim thickness. Then move the
    ring gear closer to the pinion to adjust
    the backlash.
