Musical Play

This play most appeal to all teachers, students, parents and their
children because this play tells something of how a student and as a
daughter/son follows all the good things that their teachers and parents
advices to them. The theme that the author wants to tell the audience is to
follow our parents and teachers in the good things they give us. And also we
need to think critically for us to know what is right or bad for ourselves and
for other people. Our parents and teachers advices served as a pattern in
everything we do and say. I’ll find that this play is unique because this play
had many moral lessons that an audience can acquired.

As for me, the exciting part or climax in this play is when the primary
character, Enzoy, had a conflict with his mother, Norma, because of the
problem that they encountered since Enzoy’s student, Bingo, came to their
life. For me, this is my climax because in this part of the play we can see how
a students or children follow their selves what they want, that a good mother
need to contradict on it because of the problem that Bingo brings in their
family. The characters are good because of their good presentation of the
reality. And also their dialogues are good because they have a good attitude
in talking to others and especially to the elders. I have no question in this
playwright because for me it is good and best play.

The main characters in this play are Enzoy Salvador who is a public
school teacher when he was waiting the result of his BAR exanimation
because his father wants him to be a lawyer. He has a good life because of
his mother’s guidance. Another character is Norma Salvador who is Enzoy’s
mother. After forty years of service in the field of education, she retired and
started to watch her growing son, following her steps as a teacher. The
secondary characters are Ping, Enzoy’s friend who became an engineer and
his parents were rich because of illegal activities. He believes that he will be
rich in the future without hurting someone to have the success. Tisoy,
another Enzoy’s friend who became a businessman and his parents are in
Saudi; Samuel, enzoy’s friend who became a doctor and he got killed in
Batangas for saving the lives of a revel couple; Gina, Enzoy’s love interest
and who helped Enzoy in Bingo’s situation; and Bingo, one of Enzoy’s student
that engaged in the wrong doing of his uncle. The qualities of their voices are
very good and also their gestures and movement are very complimentary in
the in their emotions that they gave. The relationships between characters
made the play realistic and they are very cooperative with the other actors
and actresses.

The set of this play is very simple yet it is unique. The back part of the
set makes a remarkable because it set as a dressing area of the actors and
this is where the actors tell about their past experiences or the flashbacks. I
have notice about the sounds or the microphones they had used because
some of the lines they said cannot be heard and cannot understand. Theirs
costumes are very simple yet it is very applicable to the characters they
portrait.

The audience’s reaction about this is very attentive. They listen very
carefully of what the actors are trying to tell them. They laugh on the scenes
that are remarkable and they teased the actors. Even though they had many
side comments, they had fun watching this one of a kind play I’ve ever
watched. They also bring emotions in the scene that the actors gave. This
play is very good, excellent and we enjoyed watching this play.
Congratulations to all the cast of “Ang Turo ng Tinuruan”, a very remarkable
play.
