Definitions
• Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is the
integrated management of core business
processes, often in real-time and mediated by
software and technology.
• Customer-relationship management (CRM) is an
approach to manage a company's interaction with
current and potential customers.
• Accounting is the measurement, processing,
and communication of financial information
about economic entities such
as businesses and corporations.
• A business process is a collection of related,
structured activities or tasks by people or
equipment with a specific sequence.
Definitions
• Invoice: commercial document issued by
a seller to a buyer, relating to a sale transaction
and indicating products, quantities, and prices.
• A (sales) quote allows a prospective buyer to see
what costs would be involved for the work they
would like to have done.
• Double-entry is a system of bookkeeping so
named because every entry to an account requires
a corresponding and opposite entry to a different
account.
• A chart of accounts (COA) is a created list of
the accounts used by an organization to define
each class of items for which money or the
equivalent is spent or received.
Software delivery model for ERP
• On-premises software (also known as on-
premise) is installed and runs on computers on the
premises of the person or organization using the
software, rather than at a remote facility such as
a server farm or cloud.
• Software as a service (abbreviated often as
SaaS) is a software licensing and delivery model in
which software is licensed on a subscription basis
and is centrally hosted.

company
• The ERP system defines how each business
process should be performed defining rules,
permits, blocks, automations and so on
• The so called “Best Practices” are usually common
ways to perform processes
• There are companies that prefer a rigid approach
(very strict rules) and companies that prefer a more
flexible approach
• 1C:Drive is designed for companies requiring
flexibility (common situation for SMEs)
