Do I need to re-register with this new scheduling system?

Enrollments are no longer necessary. You can go directly to the state’s COVID-19
Vaccine Registration form, complete and submit the questionnaire and then search for
available appointments by entering “McHenry” in the events tab at the top of the page
or by entering your ZIP code and selecting a radius of 10 miles or more. Information
about the vaccine manufacturer will be available when you schedule your appointment.
To register, go to https://covidvaccination.dph.illinois.gov/ .
Vaccine opportunities specific to McHenry County can be found on MCDH’s COVID-19
Vaccine Locations page: https://www.mchenrycountyil.gov/county-

When can I get my shot?

If you are in the expanded Phase 1b group, you are eligible to receive your vaccine at an
MCDH clinic, state mass vaccination sites that are open to all Illinois residents and
participating retail pharmacies. Vaccine supplies are ramping up, and MCDH will do its
best to accommodate all eligible residents/employees, but it will take some time to
vaccinate those who wish to receive the vaccine. You can find out which groups are now
included in Phase 1b here: http://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/vaccination-plan

How will I be notified about my second shot?

As of March 22nd second dose appointments are now made at the clinic, so you will have
an appointment scheduled at the time of your first dose appointment. If you have
received the first shot at an MCDH clinic prior to March 22nd, you will receive an email
giving you instructions on how to register your second appointment. For those receiving
the 2nd dose, you must bring a photo ID and your vaccination card/record. If this
information is not provided at the time of your appointment and/or you arrive late to
your appointment, MCDH reserves the right to deny you the vaccine.

Johnson & Johnson questions:

MCDH has not received Johnson & Johnson vaccine and does not know when it will
receive an allotment, but this may not be the case for other locations administering
vaccine. MCDH will initially reserve the J&J vaccine to vaccinate hard to reach
populations such as homeless and homebound residents where a second dose is
impractical. People who are searching for a particular vaccine manufacturer can do so
by using VaccineFinder.org

I live in (insert name outside of the county). Can I get the vaccine?
MCDH clinics are only open to residents of McHenry County and people who are
employed by a McHenry County business.
I got a vaccine in/at (insert name that’s not an MCDH clinic). Can I get my second dose
through MCDH?
MCDH does not receive second doses for first-dose vaccinations that occurred outside
of its clinics. You are encouraged to return to the place where you received your first
shot.

I am not tech savvy. How am I supposed to compete with everyone to get my shot?
Those with no or limited internet access who need assistance with scheduling an
appointment can call MCDH’s COVID-19 Call Center at (815) 334-4045, Monday through
Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. OR the State’s hotline at 1-833-621-1284 7 days a week
from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Will you be opening up to everyone 16 and older on April 12?

Yes.

Are you open to all the expanded groups the Governor recently included or will you
follow the State’s plan?
We are following the state’s vaccination plan. You can find out which groups have been
added by visiting http://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/vaccination-plan.
