Course Title:
Exploring Complementary and Alternative Medicine through Traditional Chinese Medicine,
Reiki, and Yoga.
Course Description:
CAM is a therapy that is becoming more popular and a more often used form of therapy that is

more natural than western medicine. There are many different forms of CAM therapies. For this

course we will be discussing three of them with two being one’s people know more about while

the third will be one that not many people know about. For the first week, we will be discussing

therapies under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine with some being acupuncture,

moxibustion, etc., and we will be discussing the history and benefits of it. The second week we

will be discussing about yoga and the benefits it provides. Lastly in the third week we will be

discussing reiki and a history about it and the benefits of reiki therapy.

Goals and outcomes

By the end of the 3 weeks you should be able to:

 Understand basic information of TCM, yoga, and reiki

 Know a brief history of each

 Have a understanding of CAM and these therapies in particular

 How each therapy is beneficial to people

 Where to go to learn even more about each topic

Class Dates and Times

There will be 3 classes at the dates and times below

4/27/2021 7pm Traditional Chinese Medicine

5/4/2021 7pm Yoga

5/11/2021 7pm Reiki

There will be no assignments and grades for this class. The only required materials is writing

materials (i.e. pen/pencil and paper) and you and be ready to learn.
