In march 2017 pidilite published a survey report in which they mentioned that As the real estate in India is
booming, people are spending more and more on bathroom fittings and luxuries than their drawing rooms.
Meanwhile, the luxury home decor segment is growing at 25% annually and is expected to touch $2 billion by
2015, according to Technopak Advisors Pvt. Ltd, a Delhi-based retail consultancy firm. Plumbing is not merely
fixing up a tap, with more complex buildings getting designed and constructed, there is a growing need of trained
plumbers. According to a National Skill Development Council survey, just 0.5% of plumbers in this country are
trained. There is a whooping requirement of 12 lakh trained plumbers by 2020 whilst currently available are only
2.5 lakh that too most of them are untrained/self trained.

ABOUT INDIAN PLUMBING SKILLS COUNCIL

he need for plumbing services arises for maintenance of public health and environmental requirements
emanating from the water industry and the need for proper sanitation. Of the many key activities carried out in the
Construction sector, Plumbing is one of the main constituents which also has a direct linkage with other ancillary
industries manufacturing Plumbing related Products viz. Water treatment, Sewage and Drainage, Fire Safety,
Supply of Gas, Heating and Cooling Systems, Industrial Waste Management, and Air-Conditioning etc.

Size of the plumbing sector is directly proportional to the size of the Construction Sector. Its size is about 7.5% to
15% of the size of the construction industry. Since, in 2010-11, the size of construction industry was about Rs
330,000 Crore the size of the plumbing industry was about Rs 33,000 Crore (considering 10% of the total size of
construction industry).

Manpower requirement for the plumbing industry is about 2.5% of the manpower requirement in the construction
industry. Currently, 33 million people are employed in the construction industry. Hence, around 0.8 million people
are currently employed in the plumbing sector.

About 90% of the Plumbing industry workforce in India is not professionally trained. Most of the skill learning in
the industry happens through unstructured, on-the job training (OJT). Lack of professionally trained plumbers is a
major drawback for the country's construction and related sector. The IPSC will endeavor to address these
issues and bring the skill levels in our Country to World Standards.

 The India Pet grooming market is expected to grow with a market value of INR 91 crore by the year
2019-20 and the market is further expected to grow with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of
more than 30%. The pet healthcare market is expected to curb a market share of more than 2% in India.
The sales channel for pet grooming and healthcare products are specialized stores, multi-brand retailers
and online retails respectively.
  Asia Pacific is expected to expand at the fastest CAGR of 9.2% from 2020 to 2027. Rise in the adoption
of pet animals among people who consider them family members has boosted the growth of the market
in this region. Rising disposable income is leading to the increasing adoption of pets in countries, such
as China, Indonesia, and India. The India International Pet Fair estimates that the pet population has
grown from 7 million in 2006 to 10 million in 2014 and 600,000 pets are adopted every year. India is
projected to have the fastest-growing pet market due to rising adoption rates of pets. This, in turn, drives
the demand for various pet care services, such as pet sitting services.
