    This study evaluated the effect of vitamin A, zinc, and multivitamin supplementation on the nutritional status and serum levels of 80 school-aged children in Colombia. The study found high prevalence of zinc deficiency but normal vitamin A consumption among the students. Isolated or combined supplementation of vitamin A and zinc contributed to maintaining nutritional status, but was ineffective at reaching optimal circulating levels when intake of these nutrients was low. The results suggest supplementation may help nutritional status but other factors like consumption levels also impact serum levels.

    M icronutrient deficiency or “Hidden Hunger” represents the


    most widespread form of malnutrition in the world. The
    aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of supplementation
    of zinc was high in the students, contrary to the consumption
    of vitamin A which was normal. The observed prevalence of
    DVA was 6.25%, RDVA 23.75% and DZn 97.50%. The isolated or
